Agree with this, though only to an extent. The 20 k is a bit of a dark ages, well pre-Premier League viewpoint anyway.
These 'Raiola' numbers are just obscene though. No way he can justify those kinds of fees.
The Agent should only get paid a percentage the deal he wins for the player. It comes directly off the player's deal, not charged to the Clubs. The better the job done, the more they get paid. Fair to all.
I don't know if there are ways to enforce this without restraint of trade, or other legal bollocks getting in the way?

True, but the high end agents portray a different persona to the profession that will encourage new agents to behave in the same way.
Or, at least, give new agents unrealistic expectations of their income expectations, bordering on potentially holding up a players career because of their financial demands.
The role must be financially regulated for the good of the game.

How would they cope on just £80k a month?

Every transfer requires 3 signatures - The selling club - the player - the buying club. All can stop it so none can complain. One or more of these parties is paying the agent so again. They cant complain.

There should be rules on who can pay an agent and more clarity on who they work for. There was rules on this that got scrapped and no doubt some Fifa officials got some kick back to scrap them. The simple rule should be that only players can pay agents - they should have 1 and they should be registered. And if aAgents want to work for clubs then they are 'scouts' and should be employed by 1 club only and registered. Anything else opens a mass of conflicts of interest.
 
When all is said and done , when all the silly stories have been written about scum, Barca and Madrid it boils down to a simple decision .If he concentrates fully on the football aspect then he comes to City simple as that, and if he does then the money will follow him because of his football talent at City, if he concentrates on making as much money as quickly as possible then yes he will be a rich young man, but will he have fulfilled his full potential by going to one of the clubs that are living on past fading glory days ?

Surely though that is a City view.
If all players thought like that would we have signed Aguero Tevez etc etc when we were building ? .
For example if I was Utd I would be saying we’ve been massively successful in the past we have money to spend and your pal Sancho is here we are also signing X Y and Z. We have these plans be part of the future.
City will be losing Pep they didn’t want you ,they chased Kane etc
My opinion is that all the big clubs will want Haaland all will have to pay similar levels and transfer fees
He should know where he is going by now and hopefully has given that club the nod (hopefully it’s us) and the fine detail are being ironed out and negotiated
I’m surprised a little more hasn’t leaked out regarding his intentions
We need a forward if we are notgetting encouragement and some form of draft contract/proposal is being prepared already it’s time to move on. We don’t want to have another Kane situation
Like we all say he is the right age and hopefully hungry for success
I’m a blue I would choose City but maybe that’s my tinted spectacles
I imagine Liverpool and Chelsea could sell him a vision as well

Blue tinted glasses sadly, he will have several very attractive options and hopefully we are very near the top.

I thought the same when I first saw it but it won't be new information to the club that his touch can be a bit 'Dzeko-y' but we still seem to be interested in getting him. I guess the positives (brand, scoring etc.) outweigh the negatives.

It's rare to find a striker who is brilliant with link-up play as well as being clinical as fook which is essentially why the 'false 9' position exists. Only really Suarez, Benzema, Lewandowski and Pep-era Aguero I can think of off the top of my head. Probably loads I'm missing off but they're a rare - and expensive - breed.

Haaland is by no means shit with link-up, though (see Reus' goal against us at Etihad last season). Luckily we have 9 other outfield players who are scandalously good with the ball who'd put them on a plate for him to fill his boots.

I would hope when he eventually touches the ball it's to put it in the back of the net, not pass it.

It's is a bad thing. Why should working class lads who have dedicated themselves to a craft since they were toddlers, get good enough to be one of the in the world and earn their clubs tens of millions per year and be paid 0.1% of that?

Its simple business. People who make the company money deserve to be rewarded with a good percentage of that money they generated. The football business is the players business. Without the players, nobody cares. It is their talent that generates the money.
