Erling Haaland

3-5-2 could be very interesting for our young players going forward. Or just a usual 433 with leftback moving up to take the left side width.

Ake/Laporte
Dias/Laporte
Stones/Walker

Cancelo/Zinchenko
Foden/Grealish
Rodri/New DM (De Jong?)
Bernie/McAtee
Palmer/Sterling

Alvarez/Jesus
Haaland/Delap

Could also do more of a 4222
City's setup is so fluid I really can't see the point of talking about formations.

(I see you've been laughed at for forgetting KdB so I won't mention it ;) )

I think I'm the only one here who thinks he'll be absolutely amazing first year and score over 40 goals lol

Only if he plays 50 plus games, which I doubt. Think he''ll get about 0.75 / game though first season.
Out of curiosity, in all of his time at Bayern, Pep only didn’t play Lewandowski in TWO games when he was available. Not saying it will be the same, but it could be another Ruben Dias situation

How many games do we typically play per year compared to Bayern?

It may well, but I expect him to be rested in the league cup, possibly early FA cups, and factoring in a possible injury or a hanfull of games rested. So 50 is possible but think 40-45 is more likely. Though with him getting a month off in the winter he could play more games.

We played 61 last season. Lewandowski’s first season at Bayern had 52 games, and he scored 25 goals.

I doubt it - Dias injury history is exceptionally good https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ruben-dias/verletzungen/spieler/258004

Haaland looks more like a player who could do with a lot of time management. Given his size, age, and already poor injury record, I'd hope we can wrap him in cotton wool and make sure he gets stronger, and has a very long career.

City could be the ideal club for that, as it's one place he won't be expected to play 90 minutes of every game. It may also mean that he doesn't post the kind of crazy numbers people on here talk about.

That too is a possibility. To reinforce what I said about Lewandowski: he only didn’t play two games WHEN AVAILABLE. I do think Pep will overplay him because ultimately that’s how a goalscorer gets comfortable. I also expect his injury record to get significantly better from just being out of the injury hell hole that is Dortmund

Sure - but for some players, playing every game 'when available' has a big effect on 'when available' is. Lewandowski appears to have a very, very good injury record too, so it's not so much of an issue.

Even if his injury record improves, and you'd hope it would, I'd be amazed if he ever turns into one of the seemingly bulletproof players - the man is just built differently to the likes of Sterling. Sergio had the best goals per minute ratio in PL history, but Pep still rested him regularly.

That all depends on how Pep plans to utilize him. Will we change the way we play in order to better suit someone like Erling, or will he have to adapt to our kind of play. If it's the latter, I don't expect him to break any goal scoring records.

It's been so long since we played with a recognized striker... to think we at one point had Tevez, Aguero, Dzeko and Balotelli in our squad. Those were fun days.
We had them all on the pitch on that fateful day…

I reckon it’ll be 4-3-3 like Pep always plays, barring playing Lyon in the CL.
Hes been talking about maybe a formation change maybe an extra defensive mid i reckon 4-2- 3- 1

I think that happens naturally when we need to beat the press of good teams, especially against Liverpool.
