ESPN £9/month

Re: ESPN £9/month

I wish they would have announced this after their website was completed. I'd like to know whether this channel will be on freeview and how much baseball it will cover. As it stands we know the answer to neither.

Re: ESPN £9/month

Seriously lads is there a new separate ESPN channel or are you talking about the one that is already on channel 417?

Is there a reason ESPN, like Setanta can demand a monthly fee on top of Sky?

Theres obviously a good reason but it becomes a bit of a pisstake.

It depends entirely on what you get in the package, there are ALOT of ESPN channels, and I for one would get them, purely because I like the majority of American sports but I also know people that aren't interested at all in them, For example, £9/12 is alot just to watch one channel (Football) but I would pay it if I got 4-5 Channels to watch NFL/NHL/MLB.

Re: ESPN £9/month

Cheers, but for those who are talking about watching the American sports they're on channel 417?

Re: ESPN £9/month

Isn't this kind of like being back at sqaure one?

I mean Setanta failed partially because you had to pay for it on top of sky...now ESPN will be exactly the same, albeit with (probably) better quality coverage.

Re: ESPN £9/month

ESPN have less content than Setanta ever had that would appeal to the majority of UK sports fans. From what I make out of the bbc link it is basically ESPN US with the 46 games from the priemier league. Here is me thinking they might get some top class boxing on top of the football that they have. But so far it is looking shit for ESPN. I dont think they will get a lot of people buying into them. Yes it is £9 a month for the football for 1 season will it be worth it to buy there package with all the American shit they are showing on top of it. I may weight until the last minute before even thinking about getting this in. They need to up there content of European sports be it football , boxing , tennis , golf or rugby as they wont get much people signing up to them.

Re: ESPN £9/month

Anyone know if they will they have the blue square prem games like setanta did? if this new espn channel offers nothing apart from these PL games why not have it available on a game by game basis?
