ESPN writer: Mancini is not the man to deliver City's dreams

Can't argue with most of that article.

You do surprise me, you really do.

However, if it disagreed with your opinion, no doubt it would be happy clappy bollocks......

...He could not give Manchester City the mindset that they were a truly important team - something Mancini cannot do now either....

I stopped reading here!

What a load if shit! Players like Hart Kolo Kompany and de Jong strut into the pitch and look as though they are here for business every week. "We are not going to lose today!" is in their eyes! (Something I don't think we ever had under Hughes, at times we looked scared of the opposition!).

When Tevez is fit, Balotelli is fit and suspension free, Adebayor is fit and firing and we've had a good ten games of consistency with them all or a combination of them (say Tevez and Balo starting with Ade coming off the bench) we'll be a totally different prospect to what we've been so far this season!

Fuck the fucking stupid fucking press! Who is this guy anyway? What makes him an expert on football, Manchester City and management? He's a no mark journo with an English degree and a few United shirts from the 90's and he thinks he's Mr Football! DO ONE!

LOL! Not me mate. That article certainly has a bit of an edge to it but it does set out the basics of what a few of us have been saying.
worryingly,i have to admit the article represents the 'sum of all fears' for those of us who crave stability.Just going for a whistle in the dark, and see about ordering a 'fixed smile',a four-leafed clover and a rabbit's foot.

What about this bit:

Manchester City have indulged him with Mario Balotelli, a maniac and occasional footballer. He rubber-stamped Adam Johnson, a Marwood 'Buy British' purchase and a rag-week drinker, but who is now already willing to talk up a transfer away. His club captain, Carlos Tevez, sweats stories of unhappiness with football, Manchester and existence. That's Carlos Tevez, club captain, last week shown up by Rafael in an on-field contretemps.

Agree with the three highlighted bits from ONE paragraph?

Quite accurately reflects how a sizeable minority feel about Mancini. Lets hope we're wrong......

a large part of that article, in an effort to discredit Mancini's achievements in Italy, seems to suggest that finishing third in a corrupt league whilst playing honestly is a failure.

now, i would ask all the dissenting blues (and arsehole press hacks) who feel somewhat similar and think Mancini's managerial record flatters him because of circumstances beyond his control..........would you rather win the league by match fixing or finish in a champs league place fairly?

I said I agree with most of it, not all of it. Some truth in the Balotelli comment but hopefully it's an over-exageration. But a crashed car, late for training, red and yellow card and two goals in 3 appearances, coupled with his history, also mean it's not a total lie. No idea about Tevez, I was in the stadium, didn't really see much. Johnson did appear to hint he'd like a move so I can see why he's written it.

The important points were Mancini's history, tactics and player management, most of which I largely agree with.

He makes an interesting point about him flouncing down the tunnel, something I have heard nothing about.

At the Derby match I was in the players lounge. Mancini was in his office both immedaitely before and after the game. Also, with a few minutes left v Birmingham, he gave up and sat down on the bench. Imagine a player giving up at 0-0.
