Etihad Atmosphere - 2021/22

The banter between South and Kippax yesterday was a laugh............."Who the fuckin hell are you?"

Watford calling our support shit when they filled the lower tier only and about 4 in the 2nd ....funny.
There is no rivalry with them either so no motivation and cruising the match doesnt help......think many are nervous about us slipping up too.

It emptied fast yesterday and lots of no shows. People were leaving in every single part of the stadium.

As I've previously said it has been going on years even at Maine Road in the 70's not just since the 90's and will never ever stop but it seems to be getting worse not better.

The phone ticket thing is a joke...bring back cards
Sort out the transport system.
Took me an hour to travel 5 miles yesterday...Ashton New Road is a car park up to the Snipe.

I have left early once since moving to the new stadium and it made a huge difference.

I find that odd. 5-1 at home, top of the league and your bored?

we used to win games 1-0 or scrape a draw and their would be more noise
I guess he means there generally isn’t much jeopardy in our games now.

The atmosphere against Liverpool was much better as we were all on edge and were willing the team to beat them.

Against Watford (and about 15 other PL teams) there is no jeopardy and we’re watching a surgical procedure against teams playing dead with 10 behind the ball in the lowest of low blocks.

Was talking to two sound lads from Scotland in Mary D's after the match, who had come down for the weekend to watch the game, both Celtic lads, and they were mightily impressed with the passion we have for City, they must have done a bit of research to end up in Mary d's like, but I think they were both pleasantly surprised how we are as fans.

I bored them by telling them we had 34k at Maine Rd in League One,and that was always rocking on match days as well, but then i realised that in 12 months we have been at the new stadium for 20 years,i mean where has that gone already, but the atmosphere in the ground is great at times, but not so much at others, but they seemed to have enjoyed their experience yesterday anyway.

Said before and will say it again ! I dont think our atmosphere is any worse or better than anyone else.
Dipperpool is a mith made up by the press/media. I have seen a few games and when the away is in the dipperpool half you can hear a pin drop. Spuds have that terrible slow song ' when the spuds go' its bloody awful makes me fall asleep lol.

When it matters the fans are they. But time after time the away team doesnt want to play football, this doesn't help the atmosphere. The first song Watford song yesterday was ' we've got the ball, we got the ball' lol

It's not only about the noise, it's also about the fact that 20% of our fans leave the etihad at the 80 minute mark, no matter what the score is at the time. You will never see thousands of Liverpool fans leave Anfield, United fans leave Old Trafford, before the final kick off during a title run in and DEFINITELY not when its still a tight game. Here's the kicker, most City fans are based in Manchester, a lot of their fans are from London/Birmingham. They should be the ones worried about getting home early. Why do so many of our fans need to get back home so bad? Is your partner not gonna let u in if you get back 20 mins later than scheduled? Are they all cinderellas? U have to be home before itv new at 6? Is the pub gonna close at half 5? This has nothing to do with ticket prices, it's lack of passion for the club.

Sorry but Old Trafford is exactly the same............I've driven past on home games and they are leaving in droves before final whistle.

City fans have no passion for our club? Get to fuck boss

This doesn’t explain why the guy next to me in 315 doesn’t ever make a noise apart from saying ‘hi’. He looks like he’s been going to City for 30 years.

I don’t know why he doesn’t feel he needs to vocally encourage our team. It can’t be because of money, in SS3, our tickets cost less than £18 per game.

Your ticket is £18 per game, but you can afford the £300+ Outlay to get one. Our average fan clearly can’t.

A match day ticket in SSL3 against Newcastle is:

Under 18 - £30
18-21 - £40
Adult - £50

That is outrageous and it’s no wonder there are empty seats (or seats filled with tourists and day trippers). Remember you have to buy a membership first too.

If city bit the bullet and halved those prices for a season, the atmosphere would be far better. But they won’t, because that extra million pounds can pay for a few huge cheesy displays (like the one we’ll get on Tuesday) that the club do, to try to improve the atmosphere!!

Not every singer who buys a cheap ticket is going to sing, but the % will be higher (hence why SSL3 sings more than CBL2).

Leaving early has always been a problem my grandad and dad always left early at Maine Road. To get to the Vic in Burnage for a quick pint before going home lol.

Perhaps if I lived nearer I would leave early. But an extra 10 or so minutes on my 6hr drive doesnt make much of a difference. I have never left early not even under Peace lol
