Etihad Atmosphere - 2021/22

Deep breath .... you're just not listening are you? What else would he say? Again ...for the second or third time, it's about interpretation. I saw the interview and in my opinion he was digging the fans out. In yours he wasn't. Nothing more to say
Then you're wrong, sorry.

They were wrong too.

I'm not playing the numbers game here -" eat at Joe's Cafe 3 million flies can't be wrong" - is not an argument.

I'm simply saying that just because Pep is one of the best managers in the world doesn't mean he can't screw up, and he has screwed up. He's the most high profile representative of the club and he's given our 'friends' in the media another stick to beat us with.

The MSM understood exactly what he said, as did any fair minded person.
Absolutely spot on.

The roots of the current tension between Pep and some fans lies in the aftermath of the CL final. I expected the tension and sort of predicted it after the CL final after I saw the negative over reaction to Pep. One of the most successful seasons in club's history ended with a huge wave of criticisms of the manager. Pep probably knows about the consensus among City fans that his tactics in Porto was "stupid","idiotic", "colossal fuck-up", etc. And he most certainly finds this consensus baffling and irrational. So, I'm not surprised in the slightest of what's happening now. Expecting the tension, I wrote back in June that he might leave already after this season. You can see my post in his 20/21 thread.

Now, I've changed my opinion because I think Grealish will help us perform better than expected. I think we'll break goal-scoring records even though we have no proper striker! Some fans may continue to push the self-destruct button, but Pep won't probably pay much attention to them anyway. I hope so.

There's definitely a crossover with the posters who have been at him since the CL final and this subject.

First time for everything I suppose.

The next time you hear or read about our fans being shit you'll have to accept that you were wrong. I'm guessing this will happen around 3PM tomorrow in the M11 area.
We have an amazing fanbase who, if above a certain age have seen more ups and downs in their lifetime than pretty much any other club.
This is why I'm surprised at the outrage by a few, if anything our skins should be thicker than every other supporter in the league but on this occasion we've shown ourselves to be way over sensitive.
Hopefully we can move on after today and concentrate on the important stuff.

Just listened to the Pep interview with a tear in my eye, absolute passion from him in my opinion and I for one will be hoarse after Saturdays game now ....thanks to Pep !! Come on blues .....
I do think, and hasn't been spoken about much, having one of your team arrested and charged with rape, and another player lose their Dad an hour before kickoff, with a run of incredibly difficult away games to come, is being left out of the chat here. Pep is up for this, and he's signalling to the fans "this isn't a throwaway game, we are already tired, please turn up".

Deserves respect ? He should resign. We already had a media agenda against us. All he’s done is provide more ammo for our rival fans to take the piss which lets be honest is at the heart of this. Nothing good was ever going to come of his comments except negativity.
Annoyed me too. Keep it in house ffs. Why our supporters club are helping to give the ammo to opposition fans is totally beyond me.
