Etihad Atmosphere - 2021/22

I just couldn’t be arsed with the effort of being an ultra. Looks like a lot of hard work, all that flag waving and jumping up and down.

I love getting behind the team but lets be honest, there’s some games where you just want a Bovril and a sit down.
For a lot of lads, it’s just their time away from the missus and kids.

I thought yesterday was good...

The bus welcoming did set the tone early. Loads of people knocking about the ground very early. We made it hostile for Liverpool fans, who must have been quite glad about the lock-in after the match.

The stadium was (almost) full when the players came onto the pitch. Good participation in songs from the whole stadium (not just the South Stand). Booing and whistling Liverpool constantly. Cheering when we won possession. Pyro in the home stands (that is something we're the best at in England. No other club compares to us with that) and the scenes when we scored!

Agreed - I don't think a good atmosphere necessarily requires chanting every 5 seconds, the key part is that the crowd gets behind the team and I'd say we did that

Agree. Lot of police around yesterday too so don’t there there was much chance of bother after the game. To be honest I think most fans would have been too drained after watching that game to have a scrap! I was goosed all night and still found it hard to sleep 6 hrs after it finished.

TAG, helmets on their sides, were lined up along the road that leads up to the main gate.

Apparently the Scousers were kept in for 25-30 minutes, which is unusual these days.

Klopp came out and went over to them long after the stadium was empty .

Yeah. 5 vans lined up outside the stadium too. Maybe they expected ticketless fans or something. Seemed to be a game without much incident in the stands/outside. Loads of half and half scarves on view yesterday. Didn’t see many dippers jump up though. Few in the corporates but not many.

Thought it was excellent today?
Think that’s just how low our standards have fallen. Not alone obviously as most grounds are complete shite too. Was good that we got a few songs going around the ground after the goals though

Much improved today mate. We need to try and build on that against Watford.

Btw some of the aways this season have well overrated. For example, Newcastle away was bang average but I thought it was pretty good for a hone game tonight.

Seemed fairly low numbers tonight. Think a lot are away and Brighton did not bring many. Will be rocking this time next week.

I couldn’t go again tonight as the missus got delayed getting home after a big accident so by the time she got home it was too late. My lad couldn’t go due to sickness.

Now I would happily give away my seats last minute but what a faff that is. The club needs to find a way to fill my empty seat that I have paid for without wanting to charge the earth for it. Local City fans who can’t afford to pay for tickets maybe. If not then then Manchester is a City full of students and I would be quite happy for one or two of them to take up my tickets which they could have for free if I can’t go. It might bring in some new fans. There is no way a game like that is going to sell out so why not let some people go who maybe wouldn’t otherwise and fill the seat that I can’t.

They could start selling weekend only season tickets and sell midweek only season tickets for those same seats for much cheaper prices, say £20 a game. I’m sure there would be takers locally.

we need to start making it easier to get the stadium full for games that are difficult to fill.

The only issue i have with our owners is ticket pricing. They just dont get it. Very out of touch with our very working class fanbase.

at one point yesterday it looked like my dad and brother couldnt make it. As you say the faff involved trying to sort it (hes 73 and not tech savvy) meant it would be 2 empty seats. He steadfastly refused to ring up as didnt fancy 1 hour on hold

My experience of putting my ticket on the exchange was a doddle and it sold within the hour. Granted it was posted a couple of days earlier but I was suitably impressed as I’d been expecting, from things I’d read, that it would be a bit of a nightmare.
Mine didn’t sell, but then again if you are asking £40 plus for Brighton then your having a laugh, sell them cheap to fill the seats.

Wasn’t too bad last night.

More of SSL1 seemed to be singing than usual. Kippax Corner were better than they’ve been for those type of games this season n’all (bar Leeds when they were loud).

Having a small number of quiet away fans and none in the top tier helped the rest of the ground hear our singing areas a great deal. Normally you can barely hear them over the away fans in the top tier.

I agree Eccles Blue. Transferring tickets seems to have been made easier too.

A few posters are saying their tickets went to waste. There are a few options for moving tickets on including the Ticket Exchachange, ticket resale pages on here and Faceboook - and giving tickets to friends and family.

There are often spares with OSC Branch members so people get cheaper or sometimes free tickets.
