Etihad Atmosphere - 2022/23

Fair enough mate. I understand. I know older season ticket holders who don’t go to any midweek games.

To be fair there are a lot of cup and champions league games that are cheap. I think 10/15 years ago lots more season ticket holder would be going to these games and be more excited about them.

I can’t wait for the semi final (if we get there). I think there is a general apathy - with lots of season ticket holders. I get the impression lots go out of habit, arrive late and leave games early. Doesn’t seem to matter who we play or what the score is.

I appreciate lots of season ticket holders aren’t like this, but I’d have thought more would be up for such a big game, but i do agree with your points.

I'll be there Saturday mate, for the bread and butter game, but I may well "jump on the bandwagon" if or should I say when we get to the semi,I'll become arsed all of a sudden :)

But I'm glad you get where I'm coming from all the same

It’s different culture in terms of the atmosphere, we will always like the natural flow but also complain when atmosphere is a big rubbish.

Think their style evens it out a bit.

Thought the scarf holding looked good, the banner I didn’t like no-one should be criticising the Sheikh or the Glaziers in our stadium (both have contributed hugely to my enjoyment of football).

As to the ones orchestrating and not watching, we have enough fans who spend majority of the game watching the away fans, so can’t complain.

They added to the atmosphere the Munich fans, but reminded me of United that they started kicking off as they where losing.

I’d say where I sit only about 10 to 15% were the regular season ticket holders

Doesn't necessarily mean 80% were non-regulars either though, I have a season ticket and never sit in my usual seat for cup games as I'm not in the schemes. Prefer the opportunity to get a better view, sit with mates or just experience a different part of the stadium.

Yeah I know but I would still say there’s a very large number of non regulars in the CL games

German fans are shit.

It was weird just watching them stand in silence motionless for 15 mins before exactly at 7.50pm starting their monotone repertoire of shite songs.

Theres no enjoyment in their type of atmosphere.
I liked their "Bayern ... Bayern ... Bayern" chant only because it sounded like "Brian ... Brian ... Brian". There's not enough songs about people called Brian.
