Etihad Atmosphere - 2022/23

You’re overreacting tbh, arguably the best fans in the country were at ours and they had nothing else to do but sing to save face. They’re good but it’s all they’ve got.
Maybe a overreaction if considering just today, but it isn’t is it. It was West Ham and pretty much every home game this season not against the top 6. I just think it’s sad and it genuinely does affect my match day experience. It’s not a case of me just wanting to bash fellow city fans. The atmosphere needs improving drastically full stop as it’s un-befitting for a team of our quality and the experiences they are giving us

We’re never going to have one of the top atmospheres in the country until noise comes from two ends, get used to it mate.

I pondered this with a mate after the arsenal game. Do you think the atmosphere was better before the south stand extension where there were more away fans pitchside? I’ve always thought having a noisy raucous away end always added to the atmosphere. Could be completely wrong

It didn’t add to our atmosphere though. It just helped the away fans. Away fans shouldn’t come into it we should be outsinging then

For me though I thought blocks 110/111 were much louder back then than the south stand - blocks 114-115

I’m upset that we are chasing a treble and our support is up there with the worst in the league on days like today. Most fans only bother for the big games. It’s embarrassing and it does ruin my match day experience. I don’t need to post well done city in the match day thread. I sang all game trying to show them by appreciation instead
‘Among the worst in the league’ is harsh imo fella. We didn’t sing as a crowd for the full 90 but who does? Don’t get me wrong,it’s right that we want to push harder, but I dont think anyone sings the number of songs we do and I don’t think we’re uniquely quiet anymore as a home crowd. Even an oldie today in ‘singing the blues’. Not the noisiest of games but a jolly afternoon and not the worst for early leavers.

Decent 1st half support, library in the 2nd when the lads needed us the most. Outsang by Leeds as well.

Another shit set of fans coming and being silent for 70 minutes singing the usual “WWYWYWS” and “Football in a library” before breaking out into 5-10 mins of singing the same same song and claiming they took over the ground and were so loud throughout the game.

Atmosphere from City fans was again decent especially in SS3.
