I really don’t know what to do to inject some ”life/noise” into the Etihad atmosphere. Some people say the team should play well and the crowd will react likewise. Others say the fans should be supportive at the onset and the players will up their game. The latter was certainly the case v QPR. In the “old” days at Maine Road there seamed to be an inverse square law mentality in that the poorer we played the more vocal we became ( although not always supportive). Certainly it is a fact that the lower down in the division or league we went the bigger the crowd. We regularly filled the ground when we were in Division 1 in 1999.
It maybe that our expectations are now very high and failure to meet those results in crowd apathy.
Whatever the reasons we should get together a sizeable group of fans to advise the club to discuss these issues (and others) on a regular basis. I believe that the existing PR/Entertainment team are not up to the job and the City board need to rethink their future employment. Other clubs do much better with much less .
After saying all that what a great time to be a blue. The football this season has been magnificent along with the obvious friendship within the squad and the sportsmanship shown by City through the season.
The only really dark spots for me were the booing by Liverpool fans when Ederson was carried off at home (the first time I have witnessed that over many, many years) and my fear of being attacked at Liverpool before the CL Quarter Final at Anfield (incidentally, I think City should have refused to play that tie because of the “bus” incident. That would have made UEFA do something immediately rather that cover it up).
