Can anyone update me on the seats around the perimeter of the pitch?. How are they progressing?. Are they below "pitch level?.
How many will they add to capacity?. and finally will they be in front of all the advertising hordings that are currently round the pitch/.
This last question might seem daft - because -I understand that the "seats" will have to have a view of the pitch and not be obstructed by hordings.
And finally is there any other Stadiums where "pitch seats" are....... currently.?
Thanks.

The concrete "steps" are now in place in the south and east stands...not sure about the north as i cant really see it from my vantage point. The Colin Bell, AFAIK, is being left untouched. We don't gain a huge amount of extra seats from this exercise (circa 2k) but i think the main objective is possibly to overthrow the Emirates stadium as the 2nd biggest in the country.

Somebody has pasted some pitchside sections showing the new seating relaive to the turf height and it doesnt look great TBH...although I cant see them being able to sell a seat where the recipient cant see over the advertisement boards without standing!

for anyone interested I have just added another to the waiting list, it is number 9135

I wouldn't read anything into the number you have been given. i have it on very good authority ( a rag i live next door to ) that the club have started the waiting list at 7000 as it would be embaressing for us if the true number was released to the media. I also have it on another very good authority ( a dipper i work with ) that our owners have bought 5000 seats and are handing them out as free tickets around the community to fill the stand although we will declare them as purchased to help us get around FFP.

I consider myself to be very lucky to be in a position where i have such well connected people with no agenda or bias to keep me informed of what is really happening.

You are indeed very fortunate to benefit from the such inside information from 'in the know' rivals.

I suppose at least we are in a position to give away tickets for seats that exist. In Liverpool, their touts are still selling tickets for the open top League Champions parade (date To Be Confirmed), and if you can't wait that long (current waiting period over 25 years) then you can buy tickets for seats that don't exist, which apparently is a local custom around Anfield.

As for United, you have to hand it to them... they are offering their fans the chance to experience a taste of Asia without every leaving Stretford. Step inside Old Trafford and you'll feel entirely at home with other like minded tourists.

If the waiting list is still open and we're at 9135 then surely the 2nd stand must be going to follow the construction of the South Stand? Otherwise what are people buying?

Re: Etihad Campus, Stadium and Collar Site Development Threa

I wonder out of that 9130 how many are season ticket holders and are just moving for the cheaper seats?

Like I said, some will be matchgoers anyway, who just don't have season tickets.
We won't be adding 9000 new fans, we'll be converting 6000 casuals to ST, then we have to replace those 6000 with 6000 new casuals + some brand new ST buyers.

People's generally don't suddenly say 'let's buy a season ticket for a team I never go to see'. They usually say 'you know what, I've really enjoyed going, and fancy getting a proper season ticket now'. i.e. they already come to a fair few games.

Re: Etihad Campus, Stadium and Collar Site Development Threa

I'm guessing round about 53,500 next season assuming capacity is about 55.500. A lot of games will sell out but some mid-week against
non glamorous opposition won't. Amazing really when you consider we haven't (officially) had a single 52,000+ gate since 1982.
I wonder what we will be averaging 15 years from now?

Might be talking shit but didn't think current season ticket holders had to register from memory ?

No they didn't. These are all additional season ticket holders although most would already be match goers.
Not everybody who registered will want a cheap seat. Some will look to move into the more expensive seats left vacant by relocators.
