We all love a snippet, true or not. Posted on the SSC Collar site/Etihad Campus thread today.

One to keep an eye on. More information to follow, as and when.

I'll post this here too as it relates to this thread also.

I have it on good authority ASDA will not be renewing their lease at Eastlands when it expires in a few years. The land is/was owned by MCC and has recently been bought by Man City for a "football related development".

More news as I get it.

The Asda is too big for Asda if that makes sense - can see them relocating to a smaller store off Great Ancoats Street. Where the retail park is now.

Any idea how long 'a few years' is?

Scrap the two tier cgi - one is the thinking! Dortmund style. 30 pound tickets and a fan zone unrivalled in Europe. Securing our next generation of support is key to the clubs thinking!

I hope the campus remains primarily sport focussed with the new developments complementing rather than distracting from it.
eh ??????? We are now a Global Brand not a fucking Poundstretcher one.Do you honestly think for one moment that both our Owner and Khaldoon will be distracted from their original plans ?
WOW !! Just WOW !!

I never suggested that and everything being posted so far is nothing more than conjecture. My opinion is as valid as yours!

We have one of the finest collections of sports facilities in the world on one site. I'm sure the owners will take that to a new level with further developments whilst adding hotel and shopping etc. (as I mentioned in a previous post)

What exactly is 'pound stretcher' about that viewpoint?

WOW!!! Just WOW!!

Well seeing your comments about the Club should "NOT be distracted".Why one earth would they do that ???

How about Etihad Resort (Europe)?

Largest entertainment complex in Europe.
Huge indoor theme park.
Largest indoor waterpark.
Huge indoor botanical gardens.
Large casino with entertainment complex & arena.
Ice skating rink.
Perhaps a racecourse?
All surrounded by hotels, apartments, bars, and restaurants.

Free entry for seasoncard holders ;-)

I never said any such thing so don't put words in my mouth. What I said was:

"I hope the campus remains primarily sport focussed with the new developments complementing rather than distracting from it."

That infers that I'd prefer that there was a consistent 'sport' theme throughout the campus and that the attention isn't drawn too far away from 'sport' by any new developments thereby cementing it's position as a global destination for 'sport'.

I can see how that is a disgraceful statement now, how could I ever have thought let alone posted such a terrible thing!!!!! Please forgive me for having an opinion!!!!!!!!
