One thing I've noticed when visiting Barcelona and Seville(still here) are the area's around both stadiums, which are very built up with Housing, Hotels, Bars, Restaurants, etc. Visit the Etihad and there isn't much to see or to do around the stadium. Even for us it's just a few pubs scattered around the area. This is where ADUG and City can make a real (financial) difference (killing) in the future. A leisure destination of national and international significance as planned, along with Bars, Restaurants, Hotels, a Conference Centre, an Indoor Arena, other leisure attractions, and affordable housing(apartment blocks/towers), will bring the whole area around the stadium to life. It will become a must visit and must stay destination in it's own right, situated on the doorstep of the city centre, and within easy reach of it via Metrolink and Public Transport.
I actually live right next door to a Nunnery (true), has the advantage of being very quite during the day. The sounds of sexual frustration at night can be a bit disturbing mind.Fuck the Stone Roses, there was talk of a nunnery that was open to men; what's the address?

I seem to remember a year or so back that City collar site was short on electric power that would be sufficient for a Hotel, etc.Has this problem been resolved.
Goal reporting work to start on North Stand after the Stone Roses concerts. Not sure if this is news or just info from this forum.
They mentioned 62,500 as a capacity. Previous plans suggested 61,500

Ties in with what I have been told. Enabling works starting in April through.
So does this mean actual work ie knocking stuff down & building, like we saw last season, would start after the Stone Deaf's gigs ?
Yes - would expect they will be slightly faster this time with the project as they will have learnt significantly on phase 1.
The Etihad would still offer around 14,000 fewer seats than Old Trafford, but the club harbour long-term hopes of expanding both the east and west stands to dramatically increase the former athletics arena’s capacity.
I hope it's true, the south stand looks top but if as rumoured the north stand expansion makes it one tier, it would surpass it IMO. It would absolutely dwarf the pitch.
Say this happened, would our ground be bigger than the swamp? :D
They can make it bigger - once the roof is off the East and West - the catenary system is not in the way so the south stand 3rd tier can actually be expanded so it is wider. Our ground has the potential to hold low 80,000s I am told if fully developed.
Fucking hell, cheers for that info. We aren't so ickle anymore..
