That's fair enough and I accept your opinion.

I don't go to the game for the food or drink , and I don't have a major gripe regarding the facilities.

I have a disabled son and getting him in and out of the stadium presents some difficulties, but us being able to enjoy the football more than compensates for any inconvenience caused.
Some people seem to enjoy finding fault but that's their prerogative I guess.

It is my prerogative but I prefer to describe it as constructive criticism, and I can assure you I gain no pleasure from it - it's irritating but I can live with it. A good analogy would be if the food at a restaurant is great but the service is shite - I'm gonna let someone know about it.

I'm hoping that having had plenty of time to plan the next extension, City get it right. Hopefully that means I can get a beer in a reasonable time at half time, and the access issues are resolved/improved for you and your son.

Mines slightly different to Mary D's. i nearly posted in the traffic thread about my delay today- I had to wait for a horse whilst it shat in the road. Rather than resort to my Gorton roots and shout "Oi, you dirty twat!" I got a shovel and put it on the roses - adding another two minutes to my journey! Life's different now, but I don't want my trips to the match to change too much.
I'll get the beers in the Hare and Hounds on Saturday - I'll be the sad guy in his fifties, by the bar , missing his son ;-)

Sounds like a good life and the football has never been better IMHO.

I was at a bash on Monday night and Uwe was on another table. Brought back memories of the last day of the season at Sheffield Wednesday when we sang his name for an hour and Rosler got the goal we craved. I find the away games more enjoyable now and the days out / weekends don't seem to have changed as much over the years

I'm not sure there is necessarily a right or wrong here. It's a big stadium, so everyone's experiences are different depending on where they sit.

For various reasons I've moved seats four times in the last five years, and have seen both sides of it. I was in 111 and then 206, and like squirty says, it was a nightmare getting a drink or using the toilets at half time. I was then in 212 and it wasn't as bad but still not great. In the family stand now and it's definitely better but there's still obviously room for improvement throughout the stadium. Not sure it's specific to City though. As someone else has said, facilities and queuing at most sporting/music events are generally poor.

Yes let's hope we all enjoy a better service in the future and continue to enjoy the football.

I wasn't having a dig at you btw.

True Ric they are generally poor but City are making them worse season by season for Southstanders these days, when most businesses would try to improve.

Yeah, I know you're right. I love the football now. I guess I just want it all - things will change, sometimes for the better, sometimes for the worse. As adults we will make decisions based on those changes. I just don't want city to spoil things just to allow day trippers to look at players in the tunnel.
On the bright side I'm looking forward to a rare Saturday 3pm game. A couple of pints before - maybe a packed lunch at half time ;-) - a gallon of Guinness after, then a kebab and watch us win again on MOTD. It's not that bad after all. Sweet dreams y'all

Haha, this is like a "Five star experience" compared to trying to go for a piss and a pint in the old Kippax...

I'm in SS3, and I've never found it difficult having a piss, but that is the only facility I'm interested in, I source my food and drink elsewhere, generally in our fabulous City centre, often at half the price, and far superior quality, and I live 180 miles away from every home game.

For me it's a case of looking back with rose tinted specs.
Those good old days eh?

If you actually went back in time right now to how bog standard customer servicing was and catering in this country only 20yrs ago you'd notice the differences.

On the terraces as a kid in the 80's it was fucking mingin.
Always smelt of piss and smoke.
That's why pies tasted so good as it took my mind off the awful smell of woodbines and urine.
There was no such thing as disabled toilets, guides to tell you where to go and all that shite.
No constant cctv watching your every move.
Police filming you.
Varieties of food.
I mean you can buy wine, cider at the stadium.

The service is decent in comparison with back in the day and if you do travel to away games you have to admit City is top dog in terms of service and so on.

I mean at Celtic the other week, we were all cramped in that small box of an area, offered shifty microwave burgers, piss beer, and this is Scotlands top club these days.
Seats were all crammed together, no leg room.
Shite.

Football stadiums aren't first class Etihad airways flights.
I don't mind shit service as I don't buy beer there anymore, don't buy the food, as it's a rip off.

I'm there for the football.

Ankle deep in piss in the old kippax toilets - those were the days, and that was after dodging the various mounds of dogshit on the way to the ground especially at a night match.

The facilities are better but they can and should be improved upon, level three south stand is a nightmare if you want a half time refreshment, toilets are not too bad if you haven't left it to the stage that it's dribbling down your leg.

TBH it's what watching footballs all about- you just notice it more when you get over 40!!!

Perhaps they need an over 40's stand.

think we need to remember the bogs at the back of the kippax to see where we are at now, not saying its perfect not by a long shot, but if you went for a "arry lump" in one of those traps in the old kippax i don't think you'd have been seen again!!

With the best will in the world there are thousands of people wanting a piss, drink or summat to eat all in a 15 minute window! Unless the club install thousands of toilets and quadruple the number of food and drink concessions, it's not gonna happen! Food has improved and that in itself compels more people to buy it. It's as dear as going to the cinema or theatre to be fair.

Not sure what the legal regulations are for the provision of say toilet facilities these days but providing for thousands of people for about 2 hours only is surely a nightmare.
Similar I would imagine to the transport and parking problem but the urgency of toilet needs particularly for families is specially difficult.

The toilets tend to be used by all including many who have filled their bladders elsewhere so congestion must prevail irrespective of the positioning or number of the facilities.

I know when I used to go to Maine Road I was glad of any toilet conditions such was my urgency but those days are gone and we expect more but our urgency is still a problem if we delay too much, so how is that need satisfied ?

I have no general issues because like any major event big companies will squeeze every penny out of you that they can!!

Question to all the moaners about the stadium, whos stadium is better than ours at the points you have raised, most on here have been to all stadiums in the country and beyond, its a serious question not being funny, would just like to know IF there is a stadium out there better than ours, ive been to most in this counrty and dont think any are better the oposit in fact.

15mins at half time aint long enough if you want a beer, you have to go down to the bar at least 5 to 10 mins before half time whistle to get a beer drink it and back up for second half kick of! If you go down on the halftime whistle you will miss the second kick if time!

Perspective please guys! Is anybody seriously saying that anything going on around the club at present is 'shit' and that things are going downhill? What more do you want? Back to being on the brink of bankruptcy or maybe fighting relegation?

The football is good, but the quality of the food and drink is getting worse and the price is constantly going up. Not that long ago, a pint cost £3.80 and it now costs £4.80. I am willing to pay that but its taking takes longer to be served than it used to and recently, I'm getting what seems to be soap suds on it instead of a head.

I'm in agreement that football is the most important thing, but its not the only thing about the 'matchday experience' and the other things are annoying. You can't just dismiss them because we've got *clap* *clap* Guardiola.

I think that the gradual displacement of people from prime seats and general inconvenience caused to the many, to accommodate the relatively few corporate supporters, is regrettable but inevitable as we continue to grow as a club. We're being slowly "ethnically cleansed" to other less prime areas of the stadium but at least these areas exist or are being built. We're in a much better situation than Liverpool where they've pulled the plug on the Anfield Road extension because that area of "normal seating" can't pay for itself. We are at least looking at offsetting expansion costs against the greater corporate income that can be generated in existing areas. It's not great but things could be a lot worse.
