= 54,708!?

Yes rushed that - I was using the other guys numbers. As I said I have been told by someone totally in the know on this - that it holds just over 54,000 nowhere near 55,000. I really hope I am wrong.

I think we will probably squeeze a few extra seats in as the season progresses. During the first season at "Eastlands", 2003-2004, I think we added about a thousand seats. The first league game on the 23rd August we got 46,287 but the last on the 15th May we got 47,284. Looking at the mock ups on the OS for the South Stand there are people sat in front of the scoreboard in the corner for example. New stadiums tend to grow slightly once they are operational and lets face it our current expansion won't even be completely finished for a few weeks. Okay it's not a complete new stadium but I'd imagine the club will want to go over 55,000 capacity at some point soon as they keep quoting it.

Preparing the perfect pitch. An interesting insight from Lee Jackson on how the grass is made to look awesome; from the OS.

Really random was just watching the Southampton game and they have got some fancy pattern on the pitch and just got talking about pitches ,didn't city have a phase of fancy designs ? They just seem to keep it simple these days wonder if there is a reason ?

I prefer the more conventional simple patterns and lines and most clubs in the EPL have it that way. Also think the conventional patterns look more professional. Don't know what was up with the Southampton pitch. Our groundsmen have done a great job with the pitch and it was interesting to see how it is all done. A side note but still interesting nonetheless.

Nothing up with the Southampton pitch just a bit fancy, thinking about it wonder if its got anything to do with the plastic in the grass all facing the same direction why we keep it simple

I don't know mate. Not a groundsman but as I said, I think most clubs are now going for the conventional design patterns and the fancy ones are not trendy anymore and I prefer it that way. It looks better and more proper. But it does not matter anyway if the pitch is in top condition, which the priority.
