That's because you've got this (supposedly) sense of entitlement we all have now. Basically it's JRB's fault, he's spoilt us.cjhaz69 said:fbloke said:Via true Blue @cjhaz69 on Twitter

Maybe we are secretly, - aiming for a finished stadium - similar to Sydney Olympic Stadium - capacity 114,000.

Probably aiming for circa 80,000 eventually. I've often wondered if we'd not already had Eastlands or at least actually owned it whether they would have built a brand new iconic stadium. Some of the buildings in the middle east are truly awe inspiring.mancity dan said:Bluep*ss said:fbloke said:Via true Blue @cjhaz69 on Twitter

That looks brilliant. Hopefully same capacity for us eventually? ;)
DiscoSteve said:Either on this thread or over on mcfcforums there has been discussion (with facts) of why the Sheikh decided to expand our stadium rather than build a new one.
I think 80,000 max with the rebuilt third tiers on the sides
The Sydney stadium was only 114,000 with those huge ends - its now down to about 80,000

Maine Stand - 15,00 seats. - Kippax about 30,000. - Platt Lane 15,000 (including the curved section around to Main Stand. -Same for scoreboard end
15,000 - around 75,000 capacity. - BUT 84,569 vs. Stoke FA Cup 1934 went down in history.

30,000 for the Kippax (more than the Stretford End, Kop, Gallowgate, Clock End, Holt End etc.). That would be plenty for a singing section !

Was the East Stand at The Valley (Charlton Athletic) not bigger. Was the biggest ground in the country at one time
Could The Valley hold more than 75'031 ? Because looking at record attendances on Wikipedia, Charlton are only 8th on the list !Bluep*ss said:the god Gerry Gow said:KippaxCitizen said:Only Wembley and Odsal had a bigger stand than the Kippax in the country.

You have been reading WikiPedia.
The quote below was copied/pasted from Wiki.
The Valley was the largest football ground in the League, drawing crowds in excess of 70,000.[2] .Their record attendance was 75,031 - FA Cup - 1938 against Villa.-
- they forgot to mention " the biggest" after Maine Road, Manchester, home to Manchester City.
