We should be worried. Very worried! ;-)

On second thoughts. Chuckle 1 and the Class of 92 ruining United's matchday takings. :-)

Taken the other day as I was waiting at the lights.

Fair play to Gary and the Cafe/Hotel Football brand. The cafe has done well in London I understand and to pick a plot like that from under the clubs nose is a masterstroke. Let's not kid ourselves. When you stay at a hotel you use rarely use the room other than a kip/shower so United can profit in the club shop etc. During non-matchdays he'll have plenty of competition to fill it as there are hotels a-plenty round there and the Quays etc. I wonder if he'll dare repeat this at other stadiums?

a masterstroke it was, it just shows how little interested the club is about investing outside of the club, that plot connected to the club be it a casino or hotel could turn over millions if marketed correctly, imagine how much some wealthy rag fan would cough up for a room if the top floor was the teams on the night before a match

The rags tried to stop it. The Times reported that they asked Manchester City Council to reject the planning application.
That's probably where they went wrong. If they'd have asked Trafford Metropolitan Borough Council, they might have got somewhere.

That looks absolutely disgusting.

They should have turned down planning permission on the grouns of it being a fucking eyesore.

Mind you, it's got that carbuncle right next door, so a huge turd would probably be in keeping with the surroundings.

That area, plus the cricket ground, is just fucking ugly. I don't care about the swamp looking like shit, but I'm appalled they seem to have used the same plastic to buld the cricket ground.

within five years it will be crawling with perverts and pimps, a place so called respectable married men visit to gain sexual relief, rubber underwear will be the normal criteria and extra large size mens baby's nappies for the extravagant, a manikin of Bobby Charlton will stand in the window display dressed in a basque and stockings enticing those in from the road side
