We should be worried. Very worried! ;-)

On second thoughts. Chuckle 1 and the Class of 92 ruining United's matchday takings. :-)

Taken the other day as I was waiting at the lights.

What is it?

Don't want to sound like Dave, but those slanted windows, you'd have to squint to see the scaffolding. Oh well !!

That looks absolutely disgusting.

They should have turned down planning permission on the grouns of it being a fucking eyesore.

Mind you, it's got that carbuncle right next door, so a huge turd would probably be in keeping with the surroundings.

That area, plus the cricket ground, is just fucking ugly. I don't care about the swamp looking like shit, but I'm appalled they seem to have used the same plastic to buld the cricket ground.

Not a fan then mate? ;-)

within five years it will be crawling with perverts and pimps, a place so called respectable married men visit to gain sexual relief, rubber underwear will be the normal criteria and extra large size mens baby's nappies for the extravagant, a manikin of Bobby Charlton will stand in the window display dressed in a basque and stockings enticing those in from the road side

I can see it now.....

Reserving a little judgement until full complete (what are those blue cabin sections at the bottom? If permanent then it really is feckin awul)...but the contrast between the Etihad/CFA/Collar site is stark.
Dubai vs Derby.
Quite enjoy the discussions on the architects behind the CFA and potential developments on the collar site (Zaha Hadid et al). This building (so far) reminds me of a pissed up attempt on Minecraft.

Going back a few weeks/pages, was the pre Xmas Abu Dhabi/East Manchester (as mentioned by Eddie Smith) announcement been made (albeit quietly)?
Apologies if I've missed anything.

I think they are windows waiting for the rest of the cladding panels to be added. Like you say though contrast is stark, all the imagination of a KFC drive through.

The announcement was for £170 million pound investment in Owens Park university complex. This will include new houses and facilities for students.
Also the New Islington housing project plans should be announced early Feb.

I don't see how you can compare the two.

One is a far superior building, with a much better class of clientele & quality entertainment. The other is Gary Neville's hotel.

Ah - can see them now (was viewing the thread on a small 'handheld device).
Cheers. With a KFC, DFS and White City it's in good company.
