This is so poor. The stand cost an absolute fortune and a water-tight roof is the very minimum to be expected. I'm sure you've reported it to the club and even if you haven't, they must have it on the defects list for rectification by the contractor.
Jesus, safety issues apart, the roof is surely the most fundamental part of the project you should be getting right from the outset, whenever you build a new football stand in Manchester ffs!

Rather than painting an Etihad logo on the roof, it would be appreciated if a little more time had been spent making the new South Stand roof waterproof. During Saturday's game the floor around me was soaking due to a constant drip from above. Pretty poor job given that we are two-thirds of the way back in level two and were still getting pissed wet through!!!

Same in east stand,my block(210).....floor is always piss wet through,as are a couple of seats near me,the whole of one of the steps in the aisle is loose as fuck too,has been for a while.

The stadium is looking rough in places. Fair comment from many fans about the roof, surely the club will be looking to put this right in the next phases of the stadiums development. If we go by the rumours the family stand end will be developed within the next couple of years. It is going to be interesting to see whether they will go with a mirror image of the south stand or look to construct a single tier stand containing safe standing. If the club are serious in reducing prices and improving the atmosphere in the stadium surely they must be considering all these options.

I think a one-tiered end would fall flat on its face in the North Stand. Would've worked with the South Stand, but what with the North being the Family/don'tbotherturningup Stand and most of those who want to sing enough to be bothered to move have moved to the South Stand, I think safe standing in the North Stand would be a bad idea. Doubt the club would go with it anyway, I think if it goes in any time soon it'll be in the South Stand as large parts of that are unofficially standing anyway

I really like the south stand, it is the place I prefer to stand on a match day. The only concern I have with it at the moment is whether the roof fully covers fans sitting in the front of first tier and in the corners. Just wondered if long term the roof will be replaced and/or integrated into the roofing on the other stands. The idea of introducing a full retractable roof could be something that appeals to our owners as it wouldn't just benefit the football side of things. It could also be utilised for the gigs that are likely to continue to be a regular events during the summer months, outside of the football season.

Fuck the roof, turn the speakers down, like being at a rock concert in the tried tier but instead of AC/DC we get City Square belting out, that loud you can't hear what's being said.
