It"s on the interweb, but it cost in the region of £270mill to convert the stadium from an Olympic stadium to a football stadium. And West Ham are paying £2.5mill each year to rent it.

It's safe to say West Ham haven't been ripped off, unlike the tax payer.
Yep it is good that you guys really like West Ham because you are paying for their stadium as tax payers.

I think the City is probably powering on regardless who jumps on it's bandwagon (much as Gid did to promote the city - perhaps more so than any labour counterpart may have done). Those projects mentioned just now are one of very many...mind blowing amount of investment (don't forget the Airport and the investment there too).
What's interesting is this thread started when all hopes were pinned on the 'leisure site' and that being the main hub of investment in the city. That's gone very quiet whilst elsewhere else is on fire. Really hoping something is brewing in the background rather than a damp squib post North Stand.

To be honest mate I always thought the tourist attraction was a far-fetched idea. I know a lot of people got excited over it, but realistically which world class tourist attraction partner is going to want to open a huge development in East Manchester? Disneyworld Beswick just doesn't have a ring to it!

It would be brilliant for the local area if there was a permanent attaction built that created year-round jobs, but I'm not sure how feasible it is.

Haha not so sure why this is big news?! There were 2 blue cherry pickers (massive ones) outside the east stand at about 11.30 when I was walking round. One at the top of a spike and another doing something to the concrete above the entrance

Wonder if they'll put the new badge at the top of the South Stand exterior. It's crying out for it.

Great photos, no matter what West Ham do that doesn't like a footy stadium, as for Anfield read Main Road, one huge modern stand rest a shambles. Looks light Spus will have a significant reduced capacity this season, but if the c g images are correct looks like being a top stadium once built.

They had the artist impressions of the new Spurs ground on here a while ago, looked absolutely stunning if that's what they are sticking with.
