Not certain about this but did the current Etihad build program miss a deadline because of the non arrival of steel last year ?

I think FFP meant we couldn't but a bid in for him ;-)

Nice one FC.

Failure to Finish Program as distinct from the FFP we know and love.

It did but it was just relating to completion of temporary works - not critical to the overall works programme.

Many thanks for correction WW.
The days are gone where a Company can blame a supplier for none completion. Suppliers must be selected with care as we are all aware.

We only host one match and that is on the 10th October iirc.

There's only one game played outside Twickenham, England v Uraguay, its sold out already with a capacity of 53000.

Just to clarify - Is the one game away from Twickers - the one at The Etihad. ?
If so how has the 53,000 tickets been sold.?
I am guessing your answer will be - That the England Rugby Union WC have full control of selling.!
Just interested - Cheers!

Just checked and now realise that the only England game away from Twickers... is at The Etihad. Also if you click the link above under Venues it does show Capacity at The Etihad to be 56,000.

This game is due to K.O. at 8-00pm on Sat. 10th October 2015 - so we can assume the capacity will be completed and certified.

Went to the ground today like a saddo....am like a spare...at a wedding when we have no game on a Saturday.

It really does take my breath away as you drive past the minihad and then onto the ground and around the stadium ring road, we are unbelievably lucky to be on this train to a land we could never of dreamed of just a few years back.

Thank you Sheikhy Sheikhy...top man.

Weird to think it looks like this 12 months ago...

This and the north stand will give the look of the stadium a serious kick up the arse. We'll look back and think how crap and flimsy they looked before developing

Fucking hell the difference is incredible!

Re: Etihad Campus, Stadium and Collar Site Development Threa

I mean look at the difference ^. BOOM it's there now. Looked soft before. Makes the whole stadium look like it means business (well, apart from the north stand on the other side that we can't see!)

it always looked unimposing due to the fact the bottom tier is below floor level, it now/will look like it should

Re: Etihad Campus, Stadium and Collar Site Development Threa

I'm looking forward to those corners being closed the wind doesn't half nip through the stand and makes it bloody freezing but i guess a little pain for an amazing stadium is worth it.

Re: Etihad Campus, Stadium and Collar Site Development Threa

The development is 100 per cent on time.

City briefing will be ready for start of new season, (terrible) weather permitting.

No application has been made with regards the fixtures being away from the Etihad.

The North Stand expansion been timetabled yet?

Re: Etihad Campus, Stadium and Collar Site Development Threa

It's pretty impressive how quickly it's gone up, and the stadium should look great next season.

It'll be interesting to see when/if they go ahead with the North Stand redevelopment. I was told by someone at the club that there were no plans to go ahead with it at present. I guess they're just waiting to see what demand is like once the South Stand is complete. They obviously won't just do it for the sake of it.

Demand will rely on prices as well. The latest seems to suggest only part of the third tier will have the £299 tickets and it remains to be seen how many of these will make it to the waiting list and whether those on it will be interested if tickets become available for £500 +. The demand may appear to be high, but in practice how many will want to follow it up with a season card at £500 when they were likely hopeful there would be ones at £299 available. I think the club should offer some sort of incentive for family ticket bundles and could do that with the expansion of the North stand.

With respect, I don't know what 'for the sake of it' means.

Criteria such as image and potential increases in revenue spring to mind. As has been said, pricing can always be adjusted accordingly. Until it is built, how can the demand be fully assessed?

As I have often said, the Emiratis do love building big. Anyway, we'll see.

I agree. There is also the prestige of having a stadium that can bid for Champions league finals etc.

We will not stop until its the biggest and best stadium in Europe, only the time scale is up for debate imo.
