Okay I've been this morning, standing freezing in the snow to see the latest developments and got chatting to a few lads on the site through the fence. Before anyone asks I've not taken pictures as my phone camera isn't good enough to do it justice and the snow and sleet was also extremely heavy to the degree I twice had to go and look around the club shop to dry out and warm up.

Anyway some things mentioned to me today. Each roof strut comes in three bits and once lifted into place and connected weighs 44 tonnes. Also and this I found more interesting was that City are looking to get the maximum capacity they can from the stadium as quickly as possible irrespective of the stadium always being full as it puts them in pole position to host concerts, rugby finals, European finals etc and to take maximum advantage of the corporate side by charging top dollar in order to get the best revenue streams. Maybe others already knew this, maybe it's bullshit but just passing on what I was told this morning.

Why haven't city put up a web cam so Blue Streak doesn't have to stand in the cold to get his live construction fix?

Ha ha. To be fair when I left Whalley Range it wasn't snowing. Good point on a serious note about the webcam though. I know Wolves had one when they rebuilt the other year and it proved quite popular.

To be fair watching anything is preferable to watching Wolves...
