I took those photos and then was asked by security why I was taking them, in his words 'Ive never seen anyone take pictures before of the new stand'
Pillock!!

Jobsworth wanker! Seriously though - it bloody bugs me when anyone given power (ie security, or a pcso!) goes up to someone to ask why they're taking a picture of it, as if it's illegal!!!! Ok he let you, but he still asked! As you can tell by me including them i got a speech off a police community supprt officer once when taking photos of the outside of a church! (Beautifully lit autumn day etc, so a good pic with autumn leaves etc) - As if it was dodgy or illegal! Photographers have this problem in the modern paranoid world - the city security bloke obviously thought you were a future terroriist sussing it out, or worked for the rags trying to spy a new way to build their meccano ;) I was stood with my mother so was clear a terroristt myself!!!

/end rant ;)

You failed to mention that you were doing this wearing a balaclava and carrying a crowbar and sporting a rather suspect pair of Forest Hills. But above all, I think the smoke bombs really did nothing to help your cause.

Next time, wear a Kimono and he'll just assume you're a tourist.

The new stand is amazing nothing like I thought it would be it makes the old one look like a toy, the roof comes right down over the seats a proper football stand, City badge on the new bridge there's just so much happening down there now every time you go there's something new to look at.

Re: Etihad Campus, Stadium and Collar Site Development Threa

Really looking forward to seeing the new roof beams tomorrow. Outside and inside the stadium. Will get some pics. :-)

Mrs jrb: What are you up to today, jrb?

jrb: I'm going to hide on the top of the new stand and watch Navas training at the Etihad.

Mrs jrb: Won't you get in trouble being up there?

jrb: Nah, Jesus won't see me for a roof beam.

The cladding rails which will hold the glass have started to go on. About half the roof steel also.

Just driven past.
