Does anyone know if there will be a lift to enable disabled access (walking ambulant not wheelchair) to the new stand?
or will those that require a lift need to go through colin bell ?

There is a lift to all levels in the new stand.

Even if they do start it won't be ready for 2 seasons, they would still be able to hold the magic weekend next summer..

The magic weekend will probably be at Newcastle again this year regardless. The nature of the event - attracting visitors from a fair distance - means the event has more appeal if the location is changed every couple of years.

Most RL fans I spoke to in Newcastle preferred the venue to the Etihad. The Magic Weekends at Coty were good but the security on entry to the ground was heavy handed with people being prevented from taking soft drinks and food into the ground!

I was at the ground this morning - more expense in the shop....

City Square is going to be decimated by any North Stand works - I have no idea how they're going to manage construction activities without some significant juggling of spectator pre and post-game facilities

They could maybe move it to the corner of the North and East stand / car park area, or failing that, just close it down for a year. The think the club shop might be able to survive for a decent period of time whilst construction is ongoing, although they'd probably want to minimise pedestrians, even if outside any cordoned area.

Off topic.

West Ham's new ground, the Oylmpic stadium.

Said I wouldn't go to West Ham again, but this is a must do.

I actually think it would look immense if they kept the athletics track on match day but instead they will be using retractable seating.

If they fill it the atmosphere will be immense.

Imagine your an away fan that went to a game in 2014 and saw this.....

Then came back 1 year(okay it'd be over 12 months but you get my point 2015) and saw the below, you'd be pretty shocked at how quick that's happened wouldn't you?

I love these before/after pics as it really shows how much more impressive it is now.

Definitely trying to get a few games in the new stand next season, drive past it this weekend and it's looking good. Only thing we're missing now imo is maybe The clubs initials or the clubs name drawn in a section of the ground which has been discussed before.

Agree that it will be a poor football stadium if they retain the running track around the perimeter,
Again, common sense sacrificed for political expediency. It was always going to become a football stadium, but the decision makers maintain a dishonest facade to buy political expediency. They should be held to account and put in some sort public humiliation ritual to deter future opportunists.
Vast somes wasted instead of spending wisely from the outset.
