Agreed. It does affect me directly but I would like to see more £30 and £40 tickets. £55 to £60 is over the top!
I think the days of (adult) PL match tickets for £30 are probably gone for good. I'd hope that for the lower category games, the club would be sensible in their pricing policy. Say, £40 for the lower category opponents, rising by a tenner per category level.

I agree with you Jim. Maybe one exception is the Cityzens card or whatever it's called. I would let the card holders go to one game a season (except the Derby) for £20 to £30 as these Blues have already paid 30 odd quid membership

We do get a £5 / game discount this season so if me and my son go to our usual 6 games it pays the £60 we paid for our membership. Equivalent to a free game.
Plus we were planning to fly with Etihad later this year so 10 % is a big saving

That's not a bad shout actually. Though I am hardly impartial as I renewed a couple of days back. I won't hold my breath waiting for it to happen though.

When people stop paying it, simple as that.
Think they are playing a very dangerous game with this pricing the kids out.
Another 4000 match day fans have been grabbed by s/c .going to be a big ask to get the ground full as it is let alone the north stand extension if they overprice it

I'm 16 glad I've finally managed to get a season card for this season as I probably wouldn't afford most games including travel up from the Midlands. Hoping if I don't manage to renew my seasoncard for next season I'm not priced out!

Given the new TV deal there is no excuse for any club to not start to bring down ticket prices or at the very least freeze them, particularly for kids and away fans.

Pretty sure we all said that when the last tv deal was signed, too. As for the club, i think their take would be that with FFPR hanging over us, even £1m or just £500k could be the difference between securing a new player signing and having to change transfer plans. I'm pretty sure that most clubs these days will arrange their transfer planning to come absolutely as close to the breakeven margin as they can without running over it.

I suspect the only way we are going to see ticket prices frozen is by a campaign of complaints to the club and people refusing to pay the highest rates, even if it means missing some games. The club appear to believe that by keeping the cheapest season ticket at £299 it justifies them raising the other prices as much as they see fit, or at least that's what the last few seasons have suggested.

Not so much as what they see fit so much as what the market will bear? Given the attendance records they would appear to be correct as well.

Exactly. The point is, people pay the prices so they have no reason to keep them low. The marketing gurus at the club probably actually see it as a positive that we can replace our traditional working class attendees with richer ones as it shows that the supporter base is robust and the number of match-going fans is higher than the capacity of the stadium, giving them more people to aim at and thus allowing for higher prices.

Lets see how charging those prices in the extended ground goes .
Most games just about sold out on the last week/day last season, take off 4000 match day fans who are now s/c going to be a big ask to hit 50,000 for those so called lesser teams.as a lot of away teams only bring 1500 ish these day

Won't be a great view then if they leave the old roof!!! Going back to the 3 rows. I will be keeping a close eye but knowing a little I really would not be surprised if the full perimeter is done in time for Chelsea. The contractors don't think like fans. Some shuttering still evident at the south west corner near the service tunnel. Also note that if you are on row 1 of certain blocks of the west tier you will have people in front of you to the side on the adjacent blocks.

For anyone sad enough to care those glazed panels between the back of the stand and the roof had to be extended post commonwealth games as everyone got pissed on at the closing ceremony.

Cannot wait until that chelsea game and really want a 54000 plus crowd!!!
Plus companies will shove in some overtime and lads will work overnight.

You're wrong we haven't had a 55,000 seat etihad stadium to fill before.the supply and demand will have altered a lot since last season

I hope one day... ONE day, we're in a position where we can make a lovely gesture and lend them a trophy so they don't feel left out.
It's gonna take a while, but might as well have something to aim for.
Fuck that. We've borrowed them old kits from the reject bin and let them use our stadium in the past with no thanks and actually a bit of a negative to ourselves.

I wouldn't lend them my used toilet roll!
