I hope they do.Wba boycotted city last year over £56 tickets and from memory stoke was over £50,so who's to say they won't do it again.
The reason why we had massive support throughout the 35 years of pain is that City used to look after the kids. My generation had a fantastic junior blues Association which bonded us to the club for life. If we price out today's kids, the next generation of fans won't be blue. The lads s/c works out at about £7 a game the same seat match ticket is £31.you will not fill the family stand at those prices.
Let alone £36 in other parts of the ground
Playing devil's advocate, if we sell out all/most of the games next season and then drop match day prices, there's no guarantee that the working class fans will be able to get a ticket the following season anyway. We'll still sell out but have less income, this season will be interesting in all sorts of ways.Exactly. The point is, people pay the prices so they have no reason to keep them low. The marketing gurus at the club probably actually see it as a positive that we can replace our traditional working class attendees with richer ones as it shows that the supporter base is robust and the number of match-going fans is higher than the capacity of the stadium, giving them more people to aim at and thus allowing for higher prices.
There are many reason why some seats will be empty this season like all seasons. My lad has got is first season ticket this season but serves in the forces and will miss a certain amount of games, no doubt some of his City supporting mates will use the ticket but overall all eyes will be on the empty seats this season. Which ever way it is viewed we have picked up an 12000 supporters over the last 10 years through excellent marketing and business people at the club.
This is my main concern other than the pricing of tickets - will the seasoncard "hoarders" ie; people who just buy SC's for resale value, continue and thus result with empty seats which are sold?
Or if they can't shift them then place the ticket on the New official exchange?
If there is a max. amount of times you can sell the SC Seat officially then this may still result in many empty seats.
I can have understanding with genuine cases of people not being able to attend but myself I was in a coma for 2mths of last season and my SC was still passed onto family friends and used... But continuous empty paid seats is just pointless and isn't nice to witness whilst in the stadium.

S./c prices are superb no problems but they are now sold out.Another way of looking at this could be given that comparison then it is incredibly good value for kids to get SCs and CITY are offering amongst the best deals around.
Surely such a good deal should see more and more kids becoming SC holders? If the interest is there CITY are doing their part by offering great deals on SCs - we parents should match that by signing our kids up
Yes probably most people could have got a s/c in the family stand but to get the cheap kids tickets they would have had to commit to a £500 adult ticket so about £650 in all which spread over ten payments is good value for money. But when selling something there has to be a marketing strategy - City's re SCs seems to have been to make them excellent value and I think that it is likely that everyone that wanted one got one.
The 'marketing strategy' means that a line has to be drawn somewhere and of course there will be difficult situations - in your example it would probably be worth the dad having signed up for the cheap SCs
I actually worry that the issue is that there is not currently sufficient underlying demand. We probably need to build up another 10,000 waiting list over a few years
The waiting list turned out to be a bit of a myth in the end ,when people realised that they wouldn't get a £299 ticket ,according to posters on here anyone could buy one on the day.I actually worry that the issue is that there is not currently sufficient underlying demand. It occurred to me that perhaps they capped the season tickets at 40,000 just in case the South stand failed it's safety check for some obscure reason. They would then have to relocate them (even if only temporarily in a suddenly smaller capacity ground) until it was sorted.Yes probably most people could have got a s/c in the family stand but to get the cheap kids tickets they would have had to commit to a £500 adult ticket so about £650 in all which spread over ten payments is good value for money.
However we still need another 10,000 match day fans possibly 12,000 if the away fans don't take their full 3000 .
Not forgetting 4000 of last years match day fans are now new s/c holders.
They have got to get the pricing right to sell out this extension before they even think about going ahead with the northstand
How is it a myth? The people who couldn't get a £299 ST or the ones who for other reasons couldn't take up the offer are still on the waiting list for next season. The waiting list turned out to be a bit of a myth in the end ,when people realised that they wouldn't get a £299 ticket ,according to posters on here anyone could buy one on the day.

Did it tho ? How many of the £299 tickets were taken by people relocating .don't forget we are probably going to end up with 1500/2000 match day tickets in there when the away teams don't take their 3000 allocation.unfortunately you are going to end up with blocks of tourists next to the new singing sectionsWell it helped to sell out the new stand - and gave a fairer approach to selling the cheaper tickets.
Probably about three quarters from the waiting list took up the option to buy. Those who didn't buy from the waiting list had their own reasons.
A few seats / season cards went on general sale but we will still average over 50k this season!
Entirely depends on where the smaller away fan allocations will be located will it not?Did it tho ?
