I'd say...

It's taken us years to get the South Stand to still be nowhere near giving us the atmosphere we hoped for.

Rip it up and start again.
Spot on.

That little effort of a vocal stand we have is sandwiched between the away fans to the right, the quietest stand around to the left and a seperation/overhang to another tier above. Even though it's slightly bigger than it was previously it's still pitiful and is trapped where the noise doesn't continue around the other stands.

Give us a proper end with away fans well out of the way and let's start again. North Stand for Safe Standing all day long!

Surely you want the away fans next to the singing section? They can feed of each other then.

We seem to be the only club in the world who needs that.

If we have safe standing in the South Stand, it will be either handed over to, or surrounded by, away fans, every cup game.

The current situation is an absolute joke & I'm amazed we don't get the piss taken more.

Imagine the Kop or Stetford end being handed over to City fans for an FA Cup tie ? That's effectively what we will do if we play Utd or Liverpool.

but the away fans aren't next to the main singers at old trafford, anfield, chelsea, arsenal, spurs, newcastle...and plenty others

sure some would stay for the banter near the away fans but if a dedicated city standing end was created (either 3 tiers mirroring the new south stand or a single stand) with standing then i'm sure plenty of fans would prefer to move there

Maybe added to, by fans who don't want to stand next to a bunch of fucking rags.

Any update on the North Stand . IS it being delayed to accommodate safe standing . any chances of work starting this summer ?

Do the people wishing for the North stand to be made into the "singing home fans end" now expect the family stand to be put next to the away fans. To see the youngsters along with Mums Dads Uncles Aunt and Grandparents heading towards the North stand and City square is one of the best part of my matchday, all we heard for 12 months from some on bluemoon was how the singing section in the South stand was going to work the club seemed to be in support so please leave the family stand alone, the only change I would make is that the away support tickets were sold from the top tier first this would mean 80% of the time all of level one in the ground was taken by City fans.
South stand for safe standing as well.

A few thoughts below on possible changes to ticket and area allocations.

Upon completion of the new North stand the family stand members should be given the option to move to level three or a new family stand section based in the South West of level one.

South stand away section will be expanded to meet new away allocation due to expansion where demand is high at cup games this will be an almost complete takeover.

Level one south stand current singing section should be made into a neutral supporter section (similar already exists at Fulham). This area should also be used for the ticket allocation given to the likes of Thompson sport etc. It should be none season ticket holders as they will be moved for large away following cup games.

Level one North stand should be made into the new singing section and IF allowed safe standing. This will allow the current singing sections to be put in one place, singing to ‘flow out on both sides’ and atmosphere be created at both ends of the ground. (Away in the South and City singing in the North)

Level two I am sure will become all corporate, the one or two tier North stand is a none starter as plans etc. are already in place and there is no advantage to the club.

What do you think?

we've enough fans not to need a 'neutral area' so don't think we need that.

Away allocation would NOT increase with further expansion.

We will not or ever will be having a 'neutral' section.

the family section doesnt work, its to big and half empty midweek. when the north stand is expanded we could easily move the family stand season ticket holders into the new stand. id make the family section smaller swell. the north stand got changed and tickets holders moved out. if we want an amazing atmosphere we need to have safe standing in the north stand and the south stand. a full home end. there is a new rule now where away fans have to be on level one now swell. it would be a waste if it was just in the south stand. the youngsters can still go into city square but sit in a different section. think long term.

'there is a new rule now where away fans have to be on level one now'

Unless your are Manure, where a special dispensation will mean they don't have to abide by this rule.

??? Says who?

The rule is not enforced yet, they only just passed it. Are you complaining before the rule is implemented or do you have evidence they aren't going to be following it?

City Square won't be there as the new stand will eat up that space. And as it is currently the North Stand can be around 1/10 empty (at a guess) for night matches (and we have a fair few of those through the season) and 1/20 empty for weekend games because it's too big for purpose.

The family stand needs to be somewhere else.

City Square will still be there. The club shop won't be.
