Etihad Campus, Stadium and Collar Site Development Thread

With all the building work can you get to Entrance C (family stand) from the tram stop without walking all the way round the ground (Ashton road).

What is going on with the footpath from Holt Town round the back of the Athletics Stadium. That used to be my jib off the back end of the Tram to avoid the queues down the slope, but the gates are now locked.
They've also locked the gates opposite the South stand near where the buses line up ??

I don't there is much if any tarmac at the Etihad. I think most of the surface is asphalt or concrete. I am not sure that the problem lies with it being 'poorly laid'?

Unless the paved areas are laid to falls, puddles are inevitable. Even if the area was perfectly flat, this would still arise. Remember that the Etihad is built over a disused coal mine. It should be no surprise to find some minor subsidence here and there. It would be more of a shock if there was no depressions.

It remains a design fault and not a construction fault.

You could copy Wembley Way, which would tie in with the new City Square

If they do resurface around the stadium they need to look at the water run off, when it pisses down, which is all the time lately, there’s flooded area everywhere.
This really pisses me off, should be looking at a surface that allows water to drain through If we want to present a good image to the visitors during the Euros' it essential the whole area around the stadium is resurfaced and it needs regular cleaning

I’d love to see a covered walking route from the city centre to the ground. I’m always happy to walk to and from as long as it’s dry, but it’s when the rain is hammering down that scramble for taxis, trams, buses begins.
I’m sure there are already creative designs out there for something like this.
First time I read this I thought no chance, but this would be cheaper and easier to install than any ideas of trains, buses or more trams. Plus walking is always going to be the quickest way to get tens of thousands from the ground to Piccadilly than any queueing, waiting and getting on trains /trams. Must be other examples of long covered walkways somewhere.
