Most games sell out as it is. Its people not turning up thats the issue. All games would probably sell out if match day tickets for some games especialy evening games were more reasonable priced .City fans are amongst the best in the world but are not made of money
Fantasy I know, but I just wonder if the owners are ever tempted to do a complete new stadium. I wonder how much it would cost to expand the North Stand and fix the roofs on East & CB just to get a max of 65k vs a state of the art brand new one up to 80k. I like our current stadium, but let's face it, it's not winning many awards for design compared to modern ones around the world, and with the resources they have they must be tempted to build something not seen in the UK, something that would attract visitors because it's a must see destination. Even if they go with the expansion, it's unlikely they'll get a CL final with a bigger stadium in town, which is what Arsenal have found out (if they wanted it, that is). I just wonder if they think the expansion might only be good for 20 years or so and a rebuild might future-proof them a bit better.
Again a bit of fantasy here, but is there room to build a new one on the north car parks and keep the old one in place while it's done, then build the proposed arena where the stadium is now and put a multi-storey car park where Asda is now.
I agree, I like it too, and with some upgrades it will be first class, and for me it is irrelevant anyway. I'm not bothered about fancy beer delivery systems or cheese shops, just a nice seat with a good view. My only gripe is the inconsistent wifi!Sure way down in this thread there was potential plans for a new stadium?
Stadiums still one of the best to look at regardless.

However, trying to think like the owners, do they feel attracted by building an entertainment complex (stadium, arena, shopping) from scratch, or just tag on to what they bought, filling in spare land bit by bit. Either way it's going to be fun.
There was a very one-sided piece in the Sunday Times print edition (business section) last weekend based on quotes from the London-based (MEN) Arena owner. It was very negative about Manchester in general and carried the usual snide references to our owners and their nationality. The main angle was essentially: "The Arabs have taken over Manchester and have too much influence at Manchester City Council." I thought it was racist and borderline libellous to Sir Howard Bernstein. We really do have some powerful enemies in sections of the media. I have no problem with the story being covered but where is the fairness and balance?MCC hit back.

Manchester City Council has called a campaign against the Eastlands regeneration framework by Manchester Arena operator SMG “very misleading”, while facing resistance from a mass of city centre businesses including The Printworks, Arndale, Corn Exchange and Harvey Nichols.

Based on their latest expansion, they might win an award for most bricks used. No wonder there were so many lying about for that game against us.Don’t tell liverfuckingfool that stadiums win awards, they will be building new ones all over.
I meant with the expansionMost games sell out as it is. Its people not turning up thats the issue.
