I know we’re all thinking, I’ll believe when I see it, but I think the Glazers are serious this time about expanding Old Trafford and redeveloping Carrington.
When United look across the City and see the Etihad Campus they must feel embarrassed about Carrington. Redeveloping the training ground and bringing it up to a similar standard as ours, Liverpool’s, Chelsea’s, Spur’s, etc, should cost too much, around £50mill-£100mill.
As for Old Trafford, whatever they do the Glazers/United aren’t going to get much money back from £500mill-£1bill, depending on what their final proposal for Old Trafford is and how ambitious it is.
Taking the rivalry and piss-taking aside, it will be interesting to see what the final proposals are for Carrington and Old Trafford.
As for City, the sooner City start the North Stand expansion and the Collar Site proposal, the better. But I doubt that will happen until the Coop Live Arena is built and up and running, which is a couple of years away.
Can’t see it being that cheap!
If they don’t give more space for seating it be still like a pig in make up
