Etihad Campus, Stadium and Collar Site Development Thread

Reading posts like this, it's extremely exciting to think what the Etihad Campus will be like by 2025. Pleasing if the hotel is indeed part of the next phase - and especially if the mooted casino and conferencing facilities are incorporated into it at the stage. Remember that Co-op Live, according to the Sunday Times, will already have "32 bars, restaurants and clubs" that are open day in, day out.

It seems that the Campus might well be genuinely transformed in terms of its attractiveness as a destination. Starting to look as though all those bold claims in past versions of the Eastlands Regeneration Framework could be about to be realised to a significant degree.

Ah but those at the Swamp will tell you they have lots of swimming pools around it.

Well let's hope that they are indeed doing earth samples, hopefully, @jrb gets photos tomorrow of it, which could mean that the North Stand planning application is starting to be processed. Regarding the rest of the site hopefully, that included in a masterplan for the area that will be included in the design statement

Definitely works on right now at the North Stand that are worthy of several photos.

My own personal view is that the store and museum will be in the stand. City Square is the area which attracts the greatest gathering of people and footflow before and after a game. Not only that but they could make the tour, museum and store all part of a single experience. Go on the stadium tour, go through the museum and end up in the store to finish it off like they do with a lot of major attractions.
Most theme parks have this down to a fine art. Absolute money printing machines.

i wonder if there is a chance we get an early xmas present with City announcing the plans and timescales?

I was told that planning was pushed back slightly, so certainly seems like something happening. It must be a material amendment, so as you say, we might get to see a fresh design & access statement that will give us more of an idea where everything is going to be situated - and some bloody drawings!

I'm thinking of setting up a GoFundMe page. All funds raised will go towards bribing my mate for drawings. I'm thinking £10k will do it, although it might be easier and cheaper to just take him out and get him pissed.

One scary thing that's always concerned me is the whole site being built on and over mine shafts and tunnels is how much weight can the ground hold before part of it gives way or has the whole thing been filled in?
There was capping work done a good few years back
