Etihad Campus, Stadium and Collar Site Development Thread

What if copied what they are doing at the COOP live with canal-type seating on the side of the canal so fans could have somewhere to sit before games

We don’t need to because the venue is right next to our stadium and our fans will be using the seating and bars there anyway.

Not sure if you’ve been but it would take like 30 seconds to walk from City Square to the arena.

Some details here about the new proposed transport interchange (see the map) at Sandhills which will be as close to the stadium as Piccadilly is on foot. I always avoid the tram from Bury because I can't stand the busy route through the city centre but this does appeal if it's a decent walk. They've marked "To Etihad Campus" vaguely on the map so perhaps it's on the radar at least.

Probably the first transport improvement we'll experience, assuming it proceeds. Within 10 years, though.

Who could resist a pleasant stroll through the wooded groves of Collyhurst? Tourists will flock from all over the world when this possibility becomes known.

Only when there are no events at the arena.

I have had many a tourist stop me when i get back home, asking me for directions to Collyhurst .........
Yes so many long to parade down the boulevards of Collyhurst with its handsome and shady groves - especially during the dark nights. Some kind of ticketing system may be needed to limit demand.

In my opinion Manchester is the greatest city on the planet it is evolving and expanding and all the time. If some one would have told me 10 years ago Ancoats and Miles Platting would have house prices such as they are now I'd have pissed myself laughing. There is so much to do to eat (don't tell ilkays wife) to drink to live, It is absolutely brilliant.
The redevelopment of East Manchester is amazing and the future of all the surrounding areas looks much brighter.
I was really sad to see an article about how the locals were being priced out of living in Miles Platting and Ancoats and I hope they do something about this, but I'm in if they want to regenerate any of the areas in Manchester. I just hope they don't completely wipe out the Manc in Manchester.

"I just hope they don't completely wipe out the Manc in Manchester."

If the history of redevelopment of the worlds major cities is mirrored, sadly it will be certain the local population will be priced out or moved to the edges of the city.
