Etihad Campus, Stadium and Collar Site Development Thread

Imagine having a home end like this! All we can do is imagine as we have fans who don't want anything like, even the PA getting into helping the atmosphere.

We have one of the best players in the world trying to whip up the atmosphere at Saturday's game with Everton

Update from Saturday.

I’m sure it will be done in Milan.

Just like it has been at Mayfield.

Hopefully the proposals will include new planting and landscaping?
I wonder if they would consider revealing the River Medlock that’s under City’s north car parks as well. Probably not as they’d lose lots of land but doing what they have done at Mayfield sounds great.

Weirdly had a dream about the North Stand last night, despite not being on BM much over the Christmas period. It was an epic reveal, looked stunning from the outside but it was three tiers inside. If this turns out to be true then I'm in the know!

I presume the reason nothing similar has been done with our ones is that no developers have come forward to buy and develop them though.
Surely CFG could though?, no?
They want to continue to rejuvenate the area and what better way than local, affordable housing or a brand new shopping centre, within 2 minutes of the Etihad and Coop Live ?

If they thought it was worthwhile they could maybe approach developers, but the fact there are a few examples of this being done elsewhere but no developer has approached either the club or whoever owns them, suggests there is to great demand for it.
Maybe developers will be more interested in the land when they are demolished.
Is the land owned by City or the owners ? Also even if they are if it isn’t football related or attached to the campus can they be used as club income ?

Owned by Transco, I think.

From the December planning application.

A large surface car park for the Etihad Campus occupies the land to the north between the former gasholder and Sportcity Way, which provides access to Alan Turing Way. An additional gasholder is located further west of the Site and the railway line. Beyond the gasholder to the north, the raised railway line acts to separate the residential neighbourhood in Miles Platting from the Etihad Campus and also the industrial uses to the east of Alan Turing Way and north of Philip’s Park cemetery.

Given the nature of the former use of these gasholders and as they will not be brought back into active use in the future, the two associated Control of Major Accident Hazards Regulations (COMAH) zones, associated with the gasholders have been removed following confirmation from the Secretary of State.
