Why does City not have the same for away fans money to be made here? Recently came up in a Bournemouth video about no drinking area to meet up for away fans, but in this area, just like Newcastle has done with the stack

Fucking hell, mate.

All you do is negatively compare us to other clubs.

I’m not being funny but our offerings when the new north stand is functional will absolutely blow away the majority of other clubs.

I’ll make you a giant list of what we have and what they don’t have then.

Don't want away fans in City's facilities particularly City Hall, particularly when an away fans zone could be set up at v little cost on unused land that we own.

Look after the pennies & the pounds will look after themselves !!

It's called a suggestion, do you want away fans near the North Stand area? All I was doing was suggesting and dead space area which is next to the away fans, and how the club can make money from them.

Manchester City did not invent the tunnel club that came from the Dallas Cowboys, the same as the Sky Walk that came from Spurs. You need to look around the world and see what works for other teams, then you can make your own twist on it

I suggested an 'away fan zone' in the wedge leading to the away coach park.

Solid sided marquees and food wagons.

No interest !!
If there’s already facilities inside the stadium for 3000 then maybe there’s not much need (or opportunity to raise much extra money) for something outside needing extra staff and all the paraphernalia. There’s not many licensed venues close to the campus for City fans and that’s by design, the council being happy to distribute fans around the city before and after games. Maybe things will change with the residential developments happening all around the campus though.

The area under the bridge that you suggested is actually not a dead zone, it’s a major thoroughfare for fans arriving at the stadium. The bridge itself is sometimes used for “marches” from the training grounds before games, so it is not suitable for what you suggest.

Away fans often arrive via the tram so will inevitably walk through the North Stand area, it’s never been a problem.

Just like this is a suggestion, one of these would be perfect for Collar Site-

It ties in with the place being a sports campus and entertainment complex

No proper English northerner is paying that sort of money though, so unless the business model works at £30 a head … ;)

Is this more popular in the US due to the distances fans need to travel for some fixtures?

They could probably re-purpose the Coop Live with a big screen and do something similar if needed rather than build something new.

City will probably want a 24/7/365,all ages entertainment complex which will dovetail with the matchday, arena & hotel.

I'm not sure how this will look, but a 'world/UK' will probably be in their thinking.

A Ferrari World, complimented by a multiplex cinema, might hit the spot.

Over the next decade thousands of local & international citizens will live within 15 minutes walk of the campus.

Many of these will be younger and in a higher economic strata than the traditional East Manchester population.

They will all need bars, restaurants, coffee houses, delis, supermarkets etc & entertainment.

Likewise visitors appreciate 'one stop' multifarious unique facilities. Build it right and they will come.

Finally, a helicopter view of the entire campus shows ineffective & ineffective use of the acreage caused by piecemeal legacy projects.

Imo, if City were to aquire Tesco, & populate that site with the athletics track* & tennis/squash centre to compliment the velodrome ie everything not City over there, then the liberated land could be used much more efficiently & effectively for additional leisure, F& B, hotels etc.

* How often is the huge tract of land housing the athletics track utilised and by how many people.

A new Rugby club 'Manchester Etihad' could be formed to share a reconfigured facility.

Thoughts on the foregoing ??

My thoughts are that you know absolutely nothing about City or the Etihad complex.

Edit: or the surrounding area.

I thought the same about the prices, but if they managed to get EPL right and were able to show away games, etc it also doubles up as a cinema. This was mentioned in the East Manchester Framework document

The nest at Nottingham has got nothing to do with forest , it’s connected to notts county who have just tryied to get in on the act that the club across the river are in the premiership and it gives them another 20-25 days a year to make a bit of money out of an establishment that would be other wise empty as forest fans probably wouldn’t use it as they know it’s a county pub !

I am sure City will start doing something similar at Co-op for over subscribed home matches and big away games. Not as good as the real thing of course but still a great experience for some.

Very smart move by county.
