Re: Etihad Campus & potential new stadium

We need a bigger stadium. Maine road could hold up to 85 thousand. The Kippax could hold 50 thousand on its own. When City have been successful in the past we have had massive crowds, going all the way back to hyde road. We have the highest cup attendance in history in 1934, when 84,569 people attended an FA Cup tie between Manchester City and Stoke City thousands were locked out. We have emerged out of our dark years, build it and they will come.

im sure as the etihad deal kicks in a ground expansion will naturally happen mate. we`re starting to get it right on the field now which of course helps not only financially but also for "new fans". our brand is growing rapidly and we are the most talked about club in the world at present. one fantastic window this summer of 3-4 top players and a shift of the deadwood puts us in a strong position to look at the stadium etc in a year or two.

Re: Etihad Campus & potential new stadium

For those that say the average attendance was only around 48 thousand yes that is correct, however for big games we could sell another 15 or 20 thousand. Maine road was not always full but it did not hinder the atmosphere. The fact that we now have a full stadium each game means that new or fans that can not go to every game cannot get in, and give up trying. If people new that tickets were available and easy to purchase we would get a lot more fans. look at Barca they do not fill the ground for every game. Anyone can walk up and buy a reasonably cheap ticket. Football tourism is huge, They purchase shirts ext from the club shop. Get them all in i say.

Re: Etihad Campus & potential new stadium

Buying a ticket and the mither you have to go through to buy one I'm sure must put a lot of people off.

I've got a business plan which I'm going to announce here (remember where you heard it first so this is a copyright). It's a nationwide ticketing system for all sports/theatres/concerts etc but rather than have seperate ticketing systems for each of these and the wages costs/admin/buildings etc they create, it's a machine which is in all shops, similar to the Lotto machine. All you do is ask the shop worker for two City tickets v Torquay Utd in the FA Cup, two tickets to Vue Cinema to watch Bluemoon Rising 2 and the shop worker types it all into the machine, you hand over your £90 and the machine prints you out your tickets. No booking fee, only a small charge of £1.50 per transaction, the shop keeps 50p and we get £1.00. I'd say we make over £5m each year but the sky's the limit really. All I'm asking for is an initial investment from Bluemoon of £10m to cover my costs, my drawings and my big fuck off Bentley. Who's in?

Your presentation was haphazard, you've no real understanding of the figures... why would I invest in you? Sorry, I'm out!

Re: Etihad Campus & potential new stadium

Another thing I have noticed is how many more women go to games now compared to 30 or so years ago especially in the less volatile parts of the ground.

Apart from 'new recruits' this gives a huge boost to numbers because for a crowd of say 50,000 30 years ago you can now probably add say 20-25% female attendance which takes the crowd well into the 60 thousand area.

Maybe the club should invest in some breast feeding stations and nappy changing facilites. If they really want to make money put in a couple of handbag and shoes shops they will coin it in (looks across room at wifes 40 pairs of shoes and handbags of all shapes sizes and colours FFS)

So it wasn't such a bad idea to put a 'Next' on Ashton Snipe retail park next to B&Q. City could have a mini mall where the casino was going to be built.
