Engineering projects? Like.....? Our stadium for £150m, if you consider its capacity & design is one of the best value stadiums in the world. Consider that the horrifically ugly Olympic Stadium in London costed nearly half a billion, you then realise the designers of our stadium did an incredible job.JOGAMIGMOG said:Looking at the Etihad, it seems to me that it's outdated already. In the pecking order of stadiums (stadia) around the world I'd say there are 20-30 stadiums which piss on ours. And ours is quite new! I'm not saying ours is shit, far from it, but our owners must know when they see all the grandiose designs of various engineering projects in their own country that our stadium is shite in comparison.
Hopefully their vision for City INCLUDES the build of the world's best and most atmospheric football ground in the world. I think they should consult with fans' groups and incporporate their ideas into the build. After all, it's us, the fans, who the stadium is for.
What's for sure is the continued success of City is making the stadium conundrum a pretty big priority.

they take the seats out of the south stand so the concert fans on the pitch have a easier exit
shame they dont put railings up every 10 rows and keep it standing when season starts

Is stadium expansion still being looked at?Bluebee2 said:They take the seats out of the North to build the stage, easy exit is through the service tunnel when leaving.
we saw our friendly there when we lost against the UAE National team a few years ago. It's changed a lot since then.Колобок said:Mëtal Bikër said:What exactly IS this?
I've looked back through the thread, is it supposed to be a genuine mock up of the plans Sheikh Mansour has for the Etihad or the designs for a new stadium, or an example of a design for a stadium not connected with City? What is it?
it is Al Jazira's (club owned by Mansour's family) Mohammed bin Zayed stadium in Abu Dhabi. here you can see more details.

And the club can consult fans all they want. All the the fans will say is: make it the most atmospheric stadium possible. That is something only architects & sound engineers can create.
Indeed. God damn ugly for £500m and then after the game its capacity will be reduced, possibly to less than our stadium. The perfect fumble said:ste.sully said:Engineering projects? Like.....? Correct me if I'm wrong, but when the Olympics is over and the stadium becomes home to West Ham, or whoever, it will have a stripped down capacity similar, or less, than that of the Etihad?
