Again, not directly related to the Collar/Campus plot but with one or two cogs on the rumour mill suggesting a concert venue on the site and the Apollo in Ardwick shifting (or did I make that up?) these proposals are of interest:

PDF form at the moment, though there might be a few Jpgs knocking around. New residential apartment build directly opposite the Apollo - site nicely together? I like the venue myself, and my eldest daughter has now started to go to gigs there...

Did you know that opposite the Apollo used to be the Ardwick Empire?

It was demolished in '64

<a class="postlink" href="http://manchesterhistory.net/manchester/gone/empire.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://manchesterhistory.net/manchester ... mpire.html</a>

So it wouldnt be beyond belief if they thought that getting rid of the Apollo was deemed necessary for the wider good.

Apologies if elsewhere.

Etihad supposedly getting involved at Atletico Madrid and want to sponsor a new stadium and pump in £150m.

I like the sound of this....Diego Costa please!!
I don't quite get the link? Etihad are an airline that sponsor our stadium (and various other bits). Why would them investing in Atletico result in us getting Costa?

Ages ago I posed a question on this thread (the earlier version of it) about remote screenings of matches.

The nugget behind that question centred on the idea of offering expensive corporate packages across the globe for people to watch the match on big screens etc.

It seems City are now doing it -

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.mcfc.co.uk/News/Team-news/2014/February/Capital-One-Cup-fever-hits-Abu-Dhabi" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.mcfc.co.uk/News/Team-news/20 ... -Abu-Dhabi</a>

It would make sense for me if various levels of ticket and 'experience' were on offer in New York, Melbourne and Abu Dhabi and indeed anywhere else for that matter.

My thoughts were for high-end meet the player, hold the cup type dos at £250per etc

I can certainly see that happening but if we do have a stadium in Melbourne and one in New York imagine the revenues for games if they screen games live there.
