Buzz up! PrintSamuel Eto'o would have to perform a sudden turnaround if he were to accept Manchester City's offer and leave Barcelona rather than stay at Camp Nou for one more season, according to his agent.
The Cameroonian striker is reportedly the subject of a €30 million bid from the Premier League's nouveau-riche club, and stories in England suggest that a deal has been done.
Josep Maria Mesalles does not see it like that, however - and believes that Eto'o is more inclined to remain at Barcelona for the last year of his current contract.
"If there is not a 180-degree turnaround" then he will stay with Barcelona," Eto'o's representative told ONA FM.
According to Sport, Eto'o is unhappy with the way that he is being forced out of Barcelona and his agent Mesalles hinted that he could decide to stay just to upset the club's plans.
That would then allow him to leave under the Bosman Ruling next summer and earn even more than the €10 million-per-season on offer from Manchester City this year.
President Joan Laporta has stated that he would like the players to stay, but he also recognises that coach Pep Guardiola wants Eto'o out and a new striker in to build his strikeforce around.
While the rumours continue, the former Real Madrid and Real Mallorca star is still on holiday after flying back to Paris having played in a charity game.
