Show me the proof of this happening - he's fit as a fiddle, only just turned 30, and is as fast as he was 5 years ago. He left behind his injury problems 3-4 years ago and has played 50 games for the past three seasons with no sign of slowing down even with such a schedule. At a club with Dzeko and Balotelli and with Mancini's fondness of rotation he could be rested more and preserve himself even longer if need be.
We'd get at worst, 2 big seasons out of Eto'o, and at best 4 big seasons out of him. If he does lose his pace, it won't be happening overnight as he is still sharp as a knife and his movement is first class. For someone bigging up Serie A, you're quick to dismiss the prospect of the best striker in that league coming to us.
For the record, I'd only sign him if Tevez was deadset on going and I feel Inter would offer cash along with Eto'o if a swap deal was lined up due to the age factor, but I believe we'd get as much mileage out of Eto'o as we're destined to with Carlos - 2 or 3 seasons, possibly more if Eto'o holds up longer as there are signs of him doing.
