Eto'o thinking of Premier League move

How can Eto'o be considered a has-been after the incredible season he just had? He looked better than ever, fast, clinical, brilliant! He's 3 years younger than Dider Drogba, who is still a class striker. Plus Eto'o has only just turned 30, he'll be nearing 31 towards the end of next season.

I would absolutely love him at the club, especially if Tevez does leave.

Eto'o - 30
Dzeko - 25
Balotelli - 20

Three levels of experience. ;)
There is Kun Aguero who wants to leave his club, and there is Eto. Eto is the better striker, but who will be in 2 years. This is about long term planning. If Eto'o is not an has been, he is sure going to become one in the very near future.

Didier Drogba is not a class Strike, He was a class striker, now he is just an older striker. Nothing more. Eto'o will be there soon. What if next year is his year? Old players don't slowly decline. It is always drastic. Why risk it? Just go and get a 22 year old Aguero. You are guaranteed at least 6 years. With Eto'o you are not even guaranteed 1.

The level of experience stuff is fun on paper, but in general you want 21 to 28 yearolds predominantly. and anyone over 30 should turn 30 having been on your team already, not going out to buy 30something yearolds.

We need youth and energy. Not aged imports.

We'll have plenty of youth and energy, some experience and proven class to go with them would allow us to avoid becoming another Arsenal, and Mancini's own words are that he'd love some proven Champions League players.

As for Drogba, he was obviously affected by his bout with malaria that hurt his form, but towards the end of the season he was looking better and better again, and Chelsea could no longer justify playing Torres over him. But even if Drogba is in the decline, again he is three years older than Eto'o and three years is a long time in football.

If Eto'o was someone like Ibra or Berbatov in the same age bracket I'd agree and say avoid as a decline is likely soon. But Eto'o is still as mobile and clinical as I've ever seen him, an athletic freak who hasn't lost a step to me and remains the same player I saw five years ago. If I didn't know any better and saw him, I'd guess Eto'o was 25 by the way he plays. He is far more spritely than Torres for example.

He was stunning for Inter last season and honestly I can see Tevez deteriorating before him - look at Tevez after Christmas when he added some weight and couldn't score to save his life, not looking quite right. He did come back firing after his injury but that drought showed that even at 27, we could be looking at future fitness problems with Tevez.

I wouldn't say no to Aguero at the club either but the way things are looking, we'd be looking at close to 40m for Aguero which is a price I don't think the club would pay.

that is even funnier, i know you're an inter fan but give it a rest.

yes. 100 million too.

if you find who pay that money

Eto'o is undoubtedly a great player, but it's not prudent to spend €40m (where do you get these figures) on a 30 year old in the current climate. Just think, he'll want 180k p/w on a 4 year deal and it could be a Danny Mills senario all over again.

As for those wanting to swap Tevez like for like you need your swede examining. if you want experience find them at the end of there contract ala Paddy V. That's my opinion anyway.

So going from bagging 30 goals this year to Danny Mills? That is a bridge too far.

This is the most ridiculous argument - Neither Ibra or Berbatov have ever relied on pace therefore them losing pace will make so little difference.

Eto'o on the other hand relies on his pace and he will lose it very very soon.
