Who says i'm celebrating.

The sheer fact that Britain is clearly split down the middle both politically and socially doesn't bode well for the future, and not just here but across Europe. The 'United' Kingdom and European 'Union' is anything but.

Sorry. Was replying to the post you replied to that hoped this was the end of UKIP and Farage. Bloody quote function.

Agree with the sentiments above, whichever way it goes, I don't really want to see any celebrations when the country is almost 50/50 on a decision that affects Britain and peoples futures. It says a lot about our piss poor leadership.

And you expect that to change? The Brexit liars are already trying to manoeuvre a go slow on any exit process so they don't have to explain why they portrayed this vote as a referendum on immigration when there is no real intent to deal with it on their part. It is electorally convenient but the likes of Gove and Johnson actually quite like cheap labour and are looking forward to the bonfire of health and safety regulations and work based rights generally. They can't even make their minds up about whether to stay in the single market (in which case NOTHING will change as regards to the numbers if migrants arriving. And what jobs are the Poles gobbling up. Strawberry picking? Chambermaids and hotel porters? Dish washers?

Slave labour wages is what the Brexit twats want. In fact I think their campaign coordinator is on record as saying driving down wages is no bad thing.

You are being fucking played like a violin.
No one is playing me ok pamela my gobble worded answer was a Laff about turkey a few posts before mine so wind your neck in on this one ok I never said once who or what way I was gonna vote ok headmistress knickers haha .

The problem is only just starting. There is a huge gap between those who run the EU and its member states, and the citizens of those states. Even Germans are 50/50 about the EU and the French are about 60/40 against. The Greeks must loathe it. The only people who love it are the poor countries who've done well out of it and the criminals who milk the corrupt and inefficient system.

When we joined the EU in 1973, Greece, Portugal and Spain were military dictatorships. It wouldn't surprise me if the desire for an EU army was to prevent something similar in the future.
Austria, Poland, the Dutch, the Danes, Italy, there's a huge eurosceptic sentiment bubbling away and the EU seems to be going about addressing it all wrong, still focused on 'expanding' and ignoring what the citizens are saying.

Populism is on the rise across the continent and its showing no signs of diminishing, which isn't helped when prominent left wing political figures are fueling the fire by trying to demonise the supporters of these parties and movements using slurs and attacking the personalities rather than the political arguments. Now it seems anything that isn't left wing is considered evil and wrong and I think we've reached a stage where moderate, centrist civilians have decided they've had enough and are supporting populist views and campaigns just so their voices are heard.

I don't know what's worse, Glastonbury updates on facebook or people who know sweet fa about politics telling us which way to vote. Thank god it's a secret ballot, there's some people getting very arsey over this.

EU expansion has been constently championed by one country more than any other over the past 40 years. Want to hazard a guess which one?

And it worked while the Accession Countries were finding their feet and supporting old Blighty in the Council of Ministers. The new Countries grew in confidence and voted in their own interests. Then we started crying about EU expansion!
