Bit of pimpage here, mods delete if you think its inappropriate, My Dad wrote a book that covers a lot of the fundamentals on the formation of the EU and costs of being a member, some of the sources are members of UKIP so probably is a bit bias that way.

In Cameron's quest for validation to come across as a statesman, he has thankfully left an open goal.

He completely underestimated the feeling for an exit, and the 3m or so UKIP votes which split the vote, in the general election, returning him to power, will now sound his death knell.

No boundaries, no constituencies, just the full impact of what so many numbers will now bring to the party.

As someone who voted Conservative, I will gladly take Boris rocking up if it means we can finally walk away and Scotland takes its moment of blatant opportunism to wither on the vine.

Haha. The current betting is a healthy 60:40 in favour of 'In-ism' and won't change much. Voting for the security of today rather than the great unknown of tomorrow usually wins the day. Just ask the SNP and other 'splitters'.

If we vote to leave I suspect Dave will have to go and a general election may follow, and should that turn out to be the case it could well be ideal timing for Boris to secure hinself a full term of being Prime minister.

from my perspective if someone comes here and is putting money into the economy by working, paying taxes etc etc then im good with that, yeah the government need to put a lot more cash into infrastructure to handle more people and I believe its actually Tory policy to not do that.

Refugees are a tricky one, we and the Americans caused the problems that are forcing the Syrians to flee so we should be doing far more than we are to help them. that should probably be by funding far better refugee camps and the like in countries closer to Syria though.

Does that mean that you are against people coming here without working/paying taxes ?, good then get behind a campaign to ship every single illegal immigrant out,

Just how is any government able to plan an infrastructure when they have no idea how many are here/coming because they have no control of our borders, and as the infrastructure in this country is already struggling to meet the demands of the existing population please explain how bringing in more people can do anything other than harm.

Here is a good idea for helping refugee`s, give the women & children safe area`s, and the men arms to go and fight for what they want their country to be, you know, same as most western countries had to do.

This statement alone speaks volumes. What sad and tired times we live in.

Con Artist - yes

Politician - No, not ever.

All today's politicians are nothing but career junkies.
Here's one:

Politician - yes

Con artists - no

See, we can all play that game. He's the best thing that's happened to the uk post 2008.

Boris will be next Tory leader whatever the outcome which means he's likely next PM.

What was the election betting?

I thought in the last parliament Dave made it nigh on impossible for Governments to quit.... Isn't there some kind of legislation that obliges five year terms?

I personally feel torn. I love travelling around Europe and I love being able to work there when I need to and I really don't want that to change. On the otherhand I hate the poisonous non elected regime the European Parliament has become. It reminds me of FIFA, a boys club of fat-cats who will do absolutely anything to cling on to their gold-plated pensions and chaufered bentleys.

I would vote to stay in tomorrow if it meant staying in a reformed Europe but I am slowly coming to the conclusion that us staying will only strengthen their mandate to take the mick.

Not sure on that one, a wild guess is he made it a fixed term of five years? Must be some circumstances where an election could be called outside a fixed term....anyone put us right on this one?

There is no "Reformed" Europe, nor ever will be no matter what the lying politicians try and con us into, as for traveling freely in Europe why do you think that will suddenly end ?, same with work, if you have a skill they need then its just a bit of paper required.

Dont be fooled by the liars, common sense should tell you there will not be a sudden end to trade or travel, getting out of their extortion racket will make our goods more competative around the world because we dont have to pay a kickback to the Brussels mafia.

I normally take issue with Mark but he's right here. Cameron is possibly the most successful politician of his generation.
Wasn't what he said, it was the way he posted it. No explanation, no reasons why. I just thought it was bait for the landlord geezer and others of that ilk.

Just said it during the commons debate , he's just so skilful at answering questions and if we do stay in Europe - then yes, I believe he will go down as one of the greatest priministers in recent times. And I'm not a Tory voter.

Just seen a UKIP MEP on saying pulling out, if we did would she lose her job? How can someone from uk be in the europarliment?
