Borderline decision there. Just seen the replay and he was offside earlier in the move (active or not? Fuck knows.) And what is the rule if the ball comes to you via a defender? I thought it was that the ball had to have been played intentionally for the striker to be onside, as opposed to a deflection for instance. That being the case, was he offside when he received the ball prior to scoring?

Irish interpretation of offside, being beyond the last defender when the ball is played by anyone, even if it's a defender.

Having seen it in slow motion, I agree, he looked offside when the initial shot came in and never got back onside, should've been flagged.
