Balotelli just pulls off the most entertaining thing of the half and it's not even mentioned. He's been pretty naff other than that, though I'm sure this ref is Spanish. Pique kicks Mario's foot, brings him down, and the ref is perplexed why he gives a foul against him? Still needs to use his strength more. He's got enough in him to bully Pique like he does Rio but he's letting him piss him off, and now he's on a yellow he's lost the edge to really get the boot in.
Silva is just like every other Spanish forward, passing for the sake of it. Chielinni and De Rossi have been fucking superb at the back though, bossing everything.

Balotelli booked because of his reputation. That's probably what pissed him off more than anything, can't see him getting subbed though, he'll just get a stern talking to in the dressing room.

Sorry but his previous actions lead to the so called "reputation". Not only a marked man for City but it looks like Internationally.

That touch from Balotelli was better than anything else from that first half, absolutely class.

Italy looking dangerous, and so are Spain. Strange thing with no striker. I personally don't think it's necessarily a bad idea, but the midfielders needs to know when to be selfish and have a crack on goal. A couple of times they could have troubled the goalkeeper but instead layed it off to a team mate, and the pass was cut out.
With regards to Balotelli, I think he's been frustrated. While he is a terrible tackler, he is also a victim of circumstance in that no one believes him when he's fouled, but instantly expect the worst when he "fouls" someone else. Some of the challenges on him have been worse than his challenges on other people.
Also Balotelli's tantrums/punching the ground... Is that punishable? Honest question because I don't know...
