after today's games, wednesday games, i mean Turkey's group games, will be so stupid and unfair...
everybody here in Turkey is talking about possibilities.
If Turkey do not lose more that 1 goal difference, both Turkey and Czechia will be up (99% or 100% dont know). So suitable for match fixing.
Also, croatia, slovenia, serbia and denmark may go to the next round with just 2 points, while Ukraine may leave the tournament with 4 points.
lets wait and see. especially this wendesday will be probably the most stupid matchday in all FIFA-UEFA tournaments history.

He's saying that with the 4 best third placed teams qualifying when it comes to Turkey's final group game they might be in a position where a draw means both teams qualify so they just play it out. Meanwhile, in Belgium's group they're all on 3pts currently so if those games end in a draw all teams will be on 4pts but 4th place would still be out, whilst a team on 2pts in 3rd could go through.
Is what it is ultimately. You'll get final games like this in tournaments. They should expand it to 32 teams with top 2 going through though. This 3rd place stuff is bollocks. Some group winners play a 3rd place team and others place a 2nd place team as well so not a fair and even system.
The 2nd team in Group A is playing the second in Group B and 2nd in D is playing the second in E.
The third place is a bit of a disaster.
Point F below is ridiculous as it gives an advantage to a higher ranking team
According to Uefa, the four best third-placed teams are determined, in the order given, by the following criteria:
A. Higher number of points
B. Superior goal difference
C. Higher number of goals scored
D. Higher number of wins
E. Lower disciplinary points total based only on yellow and red cards received by players and team officials in all group matches (red card = three points, yellow card = one point, expulsion for two yellow cards in one match = three points)
F. Position in the overall European qualifiers rankings

TBF, it's fairly unlikely that they'd have to resort to point F. You'd almost be in 'toss a coin' territory by then.
True but why not just make it 32 team 8 group with top 2 in each going through.
32 going down to 16 and not using the head to head system would be a much cleaner system.
24 going down to 16 is very cumbersome
Why unlikely? Group E: Both games end in a draw, Belgium and Slovakia both with the same amount of yellow/reds in this last game (they have the same amount now). Then it gets to the qualification round which both ended up tied at points.. But Belgium will then go through because they topped their qualification group due to a win and a draw against this Slovakia. It's crazy and not far stretched.
