Euro trips you loved and why?

At the time I was living in Sale (having just moved from Woodhouse Park, Wythenshawe). I think you may also have helped us get tickets for the Bilbao game. We found the hotel where the players were staying and asked Walter Griffiths (club secretary at the time) for tickets but he just ignored us. I'm pretty sure you managed to get us two tickets from Glyn and Alan...thank you. Went back to the hotel after the game and mixed with all the players and supporters (you don't get that nowadays ha). We didn't have anywhere to stay but some guy, with a young son, allowed us to kip down in his room. Like you, I also went to Vienna. Fantastic days. My wife and I moved to Spain 17 months ago and we are living on the Costa del Sol. I still have my season ticket and travelled back last season to see my Sons and watch a few games. Good to speak to you mate.
Bloody hell yes mate !!! Glyn and Alan got us our tickets and we manged to scrounge another 3-4 tickets for Blues and you and your mate must have been two of them.
Likewise we went back to the hotel where the players were staying and we also managed to kip on the floor in someones bedroom.
Do you remember the shit that hit the fan when Big Joe (who`d had a stinker that night) hit an old bloke in the lobby and his eye came up like a bloody saucepan ? It was mayhem and in the end it took the wonderful skills of Joe Mercer to calm things down as the old guy wanted to press charges.
That same night I also remember Ian Gingernuts running about the halls bollock naked as no-one would let him into their bedrooms ... obviously a well rehearsed plan.
Ah the good old days mate.

Lokeren. Aswell as the train station I refused to go into that stand. I believed it would not stay up with 4000 pissed up fans in it.
Seville the place would go to again.
That stand was swaying all over the shop...and someone having a shit in one of the portaloos behind that stand and his mates tipping it over....I can stil hear the screams.

Yea I remember the Joe Corrigan incident but didn't actually see the punch being thrown. We were in the bar and pretty close to the old guy for some time. He was giving Joe some stick for quite a long time, blaming him for one of the goals. Guess Joe's patience just snapped !

Never fails to raise a laugh. Unless it's you inside it obviously. :)

Been to most of the euro trips .so many great trips but the best were the old ones. Cause in the 80s . We never had the money for the flights so it was always by train. .leaving Wythenshwe without a pot to piss in. We left the royal oak (now MacDonalds) and went all the the way to Sweden and Finland With nothing. A full two weeks. And never paid a penny .. anyway thats a long story. The reason I'm writing this one here goes... I'm in Spain at the moment and yesterday we drove up to Seville (another great trip) and stopped off at a place called Huelva . Brought back memories in 1986 (yes I am an old ****)). We went on a two week tour of Switzerland about 10 of us in a mini bus with the legendary Alan potter. . Got home then a couple of days later me and two mates got the train from Piccadilly to Huelva. Took two days to get there (without paying). We played in the colombina.tournament .lost in the final after beating barca in the semi..one of our mates flew in from Portugal.

Been to a fair few but my favourite was FC Twente Enschede in Sept 78, great trip, 4 of us drove to Harwich in my trusty old Escort and got the ferry to Hook of Holland
Train to Enschede via Amsterdam, only about 300 Blues there but all the lads ..if you know what i mean...penned in and bullied by Dutch riot police , game ended 1-1
Went into Enschede after game and it was shut, every bar, restaurant and shop had shut their doors to 'English hooligans' the only thing to do was go into Germany just over the border, got a taxi to Grnau?
Great night plenty of bars and a warm welcome, staggered out of one at 6am and made our way back to Enschede to catch the early train to Amsterdam, the other 3 got rat arse all over again, i held fire as i knew i had to drive back later
Wasnt Barca or Madrid but it was just one of those 3 days you never forget, and we met a young Pat Berry..City fan legend....who must have been about 13 at the time and he went there and back on his own with virtually no money

Ajax, because it was in Amsterdam.

Possibly the most subdued city goal I'v ever seen considering it was the opener. Half the away end was high as a fucking kite, think I just stared and smiled at me mate then took a huge bite of my slice of pizza!
