I agree, it appears as though Hoilands head is ahead of the ball. However, if one spent some time drawing a vertical line on this particular 2d picture, from his head to the grass, it could possibly be shown to be behind the ball.

One could spend several hours drawing lines from various parts of various players anatomies on various 2d images of this goal to prove onside or not within certain tolerances.

In real life, in real time all 3 players and the ball would look level. Or not.

But isn’t offside nowhere your fucking hairline is offside is given, even if you score with your foot?

I think so. I don't know how semi or how automatic it is and what tolerances are used to determine level or not.

Maybe some manual trigonometric calculations are required as well.
