Europa League/Conference League Games | Quarterfinals | 20 April '23

“Harry Maguire’s Manchester United season has been pretty much a calamity from the start and that might be its lowest point yet.” —CBS Sports commentator

David de Gea (Manchester United): The most difficult period for a goalkeeper is when he has nothing to do and then is called upon at a moment's notice. If there is one goalkeeper capable of winning a match having spent a considerable amount of time out of the action it is David de Gea. His performance against a stubborn Nottingham Forest wasn't anything special but thoroughly dependable. De Gea has come a long way since the days he was talking about returning to his native Spain. The former international should now be the Manchester United club captain - he's earned it.

Guys come on, City are chasing a treble, you think i'm the type of person who is watching this game hoping that United lose because I want them to experience as little joy as possible when City have moved on to bigger and better things?

You misquoted Crooks, this is the original passage:

“The most difficult period for a goalkeeper is when he has nothing to do, standing around, looking for donuts, and then is called upon at a moment's notice. If there is one goalkeeper capable of winning a match having spent a considerable amount of time out of the action in a diabetic coma it is David de Gea. His performance against a stubborn Nottingham Forest—making not a single save in the game, whilst his opposite number made six brilliant saves to keep Forest in the match—was thoroughly dependable.”
