Europa League Final

I was born in 71 so im a bit of a Pup but can remember stories in my family of the time of the Munich disaster and how it affected everybody at the time with everyone pulling for Utd to be successful. It was a footballing tragedy and rightly so, a football community rallied.

Monday nights atrocity had nothing to do with football, nothing and at no point should anyone try and link it that way, blue or red.

Tonights game is just another game and as a Blue i will be cheering Ajax on because thats what Blues do.

Totally agree.

But I can just imagine the completely sickening bollocks that the BT commentary team are going to come out with tonight, where the rags will become inexorably linked with the tragedy and become forever the ambassadors for Manchester. The pre-match, the minutes silence, the continued reference throughout the game, and the inevitable acclamation at the final whistle.

Its nauseating, i agree but we have no control over what the media will do tonight or what Utd may do going forwards.

We can only control this forum and we cant stoop so low as to make this into a footballing tragedy and we only ask posters on here to be respectful of that request.

Its a game of football, nothing more, nothing less.

Shed a few tears today reading various accounts about last nights events. Some horrific, some heartwarming. At no point did I ever stop and think that a utd victory would make me feel any better about the whole thing. Hope Ajax Turn them over.

If City were playing tonight I would want us to win, but undoutedly any celebrations would be muted. If we lost I would shrug off the defeat quicker than in normal circumstances. If City were playing tonight I wouldn't expect United fans to be supporting us, I wouldnt feel any hostility towards them for supporting the opposition. I would expect it, hope that they would.

There is no correct answer really when stuff like this happens. Each to their own way
I understand that but if I remember right the London attacks recently, wasn't England playing Germany that night but the game went on.Unfortunately not for those directly involved but for everyone else life goes on

The rags are seriously underestimating Ajax, for that reason and the fact that the rags are shit, I can see them losing this and scraping into the Thursday night cup by virtue of their scraping the LC win..

I share the same grief as those connected with Manchester, especially those of us who were raised or have family and friends there, irrespective of whether they are a red or blue.

I wish everybody in Sweden a safe trip.

I wish for an Ajax victory.

Don't know a single Utd supporting mate of mine who'd want it any other way.

Come on Ajax

It's a one-off game with huge pressure on Utd as everyone expects them to win. The way Mourinho teams play, Ajax have a chance as I think Utd will be very cautious.
