I think it depends whether the CL is won by a club that doesn't qualify by league position. For example had Chelsea won the CL then they would have got a pass into the group stage and the Europa winners (whichever country they were from) would go into the play-off round.Do the winners of the Europa League go straight through to the group stages of the CL or have to qualify?
